Downtown is really hit or miss for activities or ambiance. One street is new and nice and the next is skid row. Keep that in mind before judging the hotel. I am a native Phoenician and this hotel and its location are great . Beautiful, crisp, modern rooms. Every staff member was super helpful. It is next to the Light Rail, close to major stadiums for sporting events and concerts, and near a new up and coming arts scene.

Great downtown hotel!

Amanda at the front desk started my stay with exceptional customer service. She turned what could have been a terrible hotel stay into a great experience. We were too late to book rooms at the conference hotels and booked a stay at a downtown hotel that was less than acceptable. Amanda worked with me to get a room for four nights. Amanda was helpful in every way. I am so glad she was on duty that night. I must comment though that everyone we had interactions with at the hotel went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and courteous, always willing to go the extra mile for a guest. The room was truly beautiful, wonderful ammenities - check out the rain forest shower! The hotel is quite clean and the view from the spacious windows is lovely.
The food in the hotel dining room is very good. The service in the dining room is a bit spotty and sometimes there is a wait for food, drinks or checks. This would not stop me from staying at this Westin again. The total experience was amazing!

This hotel is truly beautiful with spacious, modern rooms and, of course, Westin's "Heavenly bed". However, my recent 4 day stay was particularly memorable due to the efforts of Amanda at the front desk. I travel very frequently for business and she is one of the the most pleasant and helpful people I have encountered. Among other things, through her efforts, I had a great client dinner. Her smiling face and willingness to assist was also great to see during my longer stay which was packed with hectic business meetings. I truly cannot praise her enough - she is an asset to Westin.

A nice hotel in the downtown area with lovely large rooms that will not disappoint. The gym is good although could do with separate changing area and the bar is reasonable but way too small. I wish there was better wifi service too - does it really need to be $12.95 a day in room or $6.95 for 15 mninutes in the business center?

The main reason for this review though is to praise the incredibly friendly and helpful staff - especially Amanda T who couldn't do enough to make the stay a good one - true 5 star service - thank you.

Nick

We are Starwood Gold members who frequent Westin and W properties. Booked a Saturday night using points for an anniversary staycation. Arrived to convenient valet service, ($27 per night) located just around the corner from the lobby. Clerk acknowledged our anniversary as it was noted on the reservation. Upgraded our room to a Deluxe King that had great views facing west. Turned out, we occupied one of 12 rooms that were booked that night. This hotel, due to location, caters more to business travelers during the week and sporting/concert events when taking place nearby. Perhaps the staff was a little bored but service was exemplary.

Room is one of the largest I have seen at a Westin. Huge wardrobe in hallway entrance that houses hanging space, drawers and a mini bar that can be stocked to your liking or used for anything you bring. Large dresser with flat screen TV across from the bed. Large couch near window in addition to chair and ottoman next to the interior wall of the room. Also a nice desk/work space with a char on each side. Floor to ceiling windows compliment the great view west. Bathroom has a large shower stall, no tub, with both rain shower and hand held shower based on preference. One sink in large vanity and toiled area that is open to the rest. If you intend to share this room, a high level of in the bathroom should not be expected unless you close the main door to the room, which prevents someone from using any of it. Typical heavenly bed included. Room was absolutely spotless.

Ordered room service for snacks and hotel was willing to add menu items from the independent restaurant on site. As a gesture for our anniversary, they brought us two small bottles of champagne, two ice cream bars, box of truffles and extra water and soft drinks at no charge. They forgot an item and retrieved it immediately with great apologies. Asked bellman about train schedule and they offered to arrange a town car for $14. Room service cart disappeared from hallway without calling to have it picked up.

Hotel is freeway close, on the light rail line and close to stadiums and restaurants. Perfect location.

Can not find anything I would change about our stay and this hotel will surely be our new property of choice when staying in downtown Phoenix.

Room Tip: Deluxe king is great for couples and solo travelers.

I travel to the Phoenix area frequently for business but this was my first stay at the Westin. Where to begin?! The room was wonderfully appointed. It was large and comfortable. Everything from the pillows to the bathroom fixtutures were first rate. Even the climate controls worked perfectly. There was not one thing about my room that was sub par.

My colleagues and I enjoyed an evening at the Province restaurant located in the lobby. What began as dinner before heading out ended with us spending the entire evening at Province. The food, desert menu, and service were outstanding. Such a friendly and comfortable environment!

Finally, the front desk and concierge service were excellent. Oh yes, and the price was very reasonable as well. I plan to stay at this hotel every chance that I get.
