We traveled close to 30 miles, to eat here based on reading about it in the arizona republic top restaurants. This is not something We do often but it was a special occasion and wanted something different.
happy hour drinks were great. We had a couple prickly pear martinis and Serrano cilantro mango mojitos. Yum. Wine selection was nice.
We had the pork belly appetizer and several others with this one beng our favorite. Service for happy hour was slow and not much room since you cannt get happy hour anywhere you sit. You have to have it in the bar which is a bummer.
Make a reservation. Enjoy the days when Weather is nice to sit on patio and ask for table near outdoor fire place. Very romantic/cozy. sit towards shed vs restaurant side as there is a noisy pump.
We also had Dessert / bread pudding which was fantastic.
We loved everything except what we paid the most for - several $30 each main dishes. The veal shank was greasy and desperately needed seasoning. The halibut was over cooked and also very bland. The mussels were also in need of flavor. The shrimp and grits though were great.
Appetizers were much better.
It was a great atmosphere, very relaxed and would try again only either skip main dishes or try something different.
