This is one of the best museum's ever !!. I loved how all the information was presented, incorporating video etc.. There are so many interesting exhibits, even if you aren't a real music lover this place will impress. Plan several hours as there is so much to see. I will be back

Visited this museum at the request of our musical son. We were amazed at the number of instruments from all parts of the world. The display areas of the museum are set up by continents. Headphones allow you to watch and hear many of the instruments being played on video displays within each area. Allow a minumum of 4 hours and more if your really want to see and read about all that is diplayed. On the first floor is an area where you can try your hand at some of the instuments.

I read the reviews where others were wow'd by it. So I had high expectations. While it was the most interesting museum I have seen here, I rate it a 4 star. It is obvious that a great deal of work went into finding and setting up the videos. It beat a number of other competing attractions because it was inside. It sure beat the potential of a trip to the mall.

I've had friends tell me how great this museum is and they rave about it so hard that i just never fully believed them. But i knew i had to go next time i was in Phoenix. And so do you! You will love it.

If you just sort of like music, for example, maybe some popular stuff, a little interest in the 50s or 60s, and a couple styles from other countries, then you will need about 3 hours! But if you love music from all over the world and want to see and hear the instruments and learn about how they are made and the people, culture and history that play them, then you will literally need all day here to enjoy yourself. I wish they had longer hours. 9a to 5p just isn't enough. (How about 8a to 6p or staying open till 9p certain nights?)

Seriously, we went through as fast as we could (because we need to be somewhere at a certain time) and it took us 3.5 hours. We were dying to stay longer but couldn't. Now i just can't wait to get back again! Go, go, go!

Only thing i expected that i didn't get was to also hear some music over my headphones when i went to the bathroom... some crappy music! (nope, just boring silence.) Just the history of the world of music, presented effortlessly, enjoyably, entertainingly, amazingly, wonderfully...

Also, the restaurant food was pretty good, but the service was so over-anxious that they took away our delicious brownie when it was only half-eaten. That was an amazing brownie. ouch!
