Although the climb on the main trail is manageable if you are not in the best condition (my seventy five year old father in law climbed it with his walking stick), the local fitness freaks make this hazardous for the slomos, especially on the decsent, where they run full out, and fast. I spend a month here during the winter and climb it every morning, and two years ago was mowed down and broke my leg (and had the pleasure of walking out of the park on it). Most of thr runners are there in the very early morning (many pre-dawn), so, even though it is much more crowded in the afternoon, it is a safer experience. Be aware that the sun sets quickly here, and there are periodic recues via helicopter (at a cost to the person being recued).
