“"Great museum to visit even if your not into Firefighting"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We enjoy all types of museums but this one was really different type of museum. One I would put on your list to visit if you enjoy museums.

Lots of great looking Fire Engines to view. Even have one that you can climb aboard for a photo. Staff was friendly and may you feel welcome. Cost for this museum was well worth the price. I would suggest leaving little ones under 8 unless it is for a private tour of children. Not a lot for children to enjoy on there own.

“If you have an interest, this a great place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

This place has quite a collection of vehicles from the 1800s onward. The most interesting part to me was the emergency management and dispatch equipment. The knowledgeable docents provide tours if you so desire. This is not the place for less than five years olds as there is not a lot of interactive things that I've noticed, but they do have some. If you like cars, trucks, construction, firefighting, emergency mangement and the like, you will love this museum. If you don't have a docent tour or have a school tour to follow, it looses a little luster. I appreciate and admire the folks who created this, but it's not a top ten attraction for me.

“Great display and info!”

What a great museum of fire history. The displays are great. The person at the counter is grumpy but maybe she is a volunteer or was having a bad day.

“So much I never knew...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

We decided to visit this museum because my boyfriend loves firefighting. I was so much more than we expected! There were rooms and rooms full of different fire trucks that have so much history. They have walls filled with different patchs for towns all over the US. They have helmets, old uniforms, and a place for kids to learn all about fires. I especially loved the room that was made for the lives that were lost during 9/11. It was very moving. I would recommend this museum to anyone who is interested in firefighting and learnign the history of it. They even have a unique shop where you can buy t-shirts, key chains, shot glasses, and more.

Excellent museum of fire fighting apparatus and memorabilia. It is well worth your time to see a large piece of fire history.
