“Interesting it you like old fire engines or have fire fighting background”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013

The name is kind of deceiving. My son saw this museum while we were heading to the "Hole in the Rock" and he wanted to stop. We thought it was going to be about the science of fire but it was about fire fighters and fire engines. It's kind of pricey, $7 for adults and $5 to $6 for kids. Customer services was lacking a bit and your kind thrown a 3 ring binder that holds all the info about the exhibits. It's about 10 pages of reading. They do have a small 9-11 exhibit that was interesting.

“Interesting and unique”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

No frills museum full of firefighting equipment and memorabilia. Very old hand pumpers up to modern equipment.

They hand you a notebook with information on the exhibits when you go in, it would have been nice to have more signage so you could read about the items you were interested in rather than flipping through a notebook.

“All firefighters should visit”

A great place that all firefighters would enjoy. Recommend that time be allowed for the visit. Really enjoyed hearing actual live fire calls while there.

“Excellent museum of firefighting equiptment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

This is by far the best firefighting museum I have visited. Wish I could have taken my grand son.
It is a self guided tour with a book to point out all the different equipment. You can go at your own speed.

Very nice museum with a great gift shop. Open year round. Reasonable fees.

“FIREFIGHTERS DREAM”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

This museum is great for all members of the family. They have an actual firetruck for the kids to play on too. Old fire apparatus-horsedrawn
rigs. An area dedicated to fallen firefighters. An area dedicated to heroic firefighters where my husband found several of his Detroit buddies. Nominal fee - tour available. A nice find.
