Phoenix Zoo is certainly a great place to take the kids. It’s a fun zoo, and for those adults that are not so entertained by the animals there is a nice little bench to sit down on by most of the enclosures which is obviously beneficial so you aren’t just standing around. The food doesn’t come cheap but it is decent; however, if you don’t have the money to flaunt you should definitely consider bringing food yourselves.
There are plenty of exhibits to see from zebras to baboons. The amount of animals is definitely worth the price you have to pay for entry into the zoo. Overall, a fun experience for the kids and a chance for them to learn something about Animals.

Good way to see desert animals in their natural habitat. There is a nice petting zoo section for the kids. A fair amount of walking either bring your stroller or you can rent one once inside the gate. Phoenix Zoo is set within the Pappago Mountains which makes it picturesque and most unique.

I have been to many zoos so I figured I would add another one under my belt. It is definitely worth the price we paid to get in. They take your picture when you first come in and we did buy it. There were so many animals! It took us hours to walk the whole park. Our experience might have been different if we did not go during the hottest month of the year. The animals were so hot and most of them were hiding in the shade or hard to see. I would suggest going when it is not so hot and then you might be able to see more. I still enjoyed it a lot. This is a great place for a date or even just a family outting.
