Lots of shady places in this zoo! Very clean and many places to get a cold drink and something to eat. A unique attraction in which you get to go in a money enclosure.

Great layout and collection of wildlife. Especially loved the giraffe exhibit where you can feed the giraffes!

Enjoyed the Phoenix zoo with my family on a Sunday. I imagine visiting the zoo in March is the way to go, as the lines were non-existent and the temperature was amazing (80 degrees is about the max for me hiking around a park with some fairly good inclines!) The animals at this zoo appear excellently maintained. The facilities are clean and modern. All of the 'zoo staffers' were eager to engage in conversation and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs, which is really nice to see. Tons to see and do, and honestly one day was not really enough. If I ever go again, I would plan a two-three day trip and really get to see it all.

The GPS had a bit of difficulty finding the zoo (wanted to turn down a closed road right before the zoo turn to the parking lot), but after that everything ran smoothly. Everything is well marked and the map is excellent. Plenty of room for visitors and the train when walking around the site. Lots of interactive displays.

I have been going to the Phoenix Zoo since I was a kid so have see it evolve from the early 70's on my first visit to today.

They have not changed much over the years but the animals have evolved.

It is good for an Arizona kid to see African animals and also more local-type wildlife.

They have plenty of hands-on exhibits. To get to feed a giraffe is a very cool experience.

I would recommend taking the train tour around the zoo to get your bearings before doing your own tour.

The play area for the kids is also a nice touch.

Well worth the family annual pass fee if you plan to visit a few times each year.
