“Good for kids”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

I enjoy coming here. There are playgrounds and splash pads to stay out of the heat. The kids enjoy the petting zoo. Good variety of species.

“Nice weekday funday”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

The zoo is fairly small and easy to navigate. Lot's of varied animals and plants. It was very crowded early Sunday in early Spring.

The entry fee is fairly high but the gift shop offers many items at a reasonable price.

“Nice Lake, Great Animals”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

With over two miles of trails and over a thousand animals spread over 125 acres, the Phoenix Zoo is right up there among the better zoos that I’ve visited. Although I wouldn’t want to walk the trails on a hot summer day, they were great for strolling on a pleasant day in February. The animals were active, well taken care of and fun to watch. The zoo has a large bird population and they can be heard just about everywhere, especially when the crested screamers sound off around feeding time. A few shaded picnic areas are located by a large central lake and a safari train is available for a ride around the zoo. Other worthwhile attractions are nearby, within a mile of the Phoenix Zoo, including the Desert Botanical Garden, the Hole in the Rock and Papago Park. All are on N. Galvin Parkway.

“Beautiful zoo”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

The Phoenix zoo is really well done; natural settings for the animals and well kept. Lots to see and do. They will allow you to bring in your own food and drinks which can really help save some money, but the cost of admission is pretty pricey, especially for an entire family. If you live in the area you would probably be better off to purchase a membership. Still, it was a great day and the kids really enjoyed it.

“Fantastically managed zoo”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

I am usually not such a great fan of zoos, but this one is beautifully landscaped, the animal husbandry is top-notch, their animal conservation is fantastic and makes a real difference to species that are on the brink of extinction. But if you don't care about any of this, it is also just a great day out, a beautiful walk, and a fun place to be. Don't miss this one.
