We went to the Zoo to find a handful of animals in very small spaces. Birds that need to fly who were kept in cages where they couldnt do so. A black Monkey also in a a very small enclosure. I also felt sad for the poor elepahnt who only had a donut shaped enclosure to roam in. Elephants need big open spaces. The Giraffe's were in a nice open area at least with the Texas Longhorns and other animals. The Tiger was also in a very small area. Phoenix Zoo, give these animals a proper life in captivity, bigger spaces!

We took our granddaughter to the zoo for New Years. It is a very nice place for a day in the sunshine. Lots of exhibits and nice concessions. The animals look healthy and happy.

I recommend going right when the Zoo Lights opens at 6:00. The lines when we were leaving were huge. There were many lights to see. There was coffee/hot chocolate, popcorn, and cotton candy for sale and that was about it. Just what you needed.

We were there the evening the Ducks/Wildcat bands were playing around the lake. Festive prelude to the BCS Bowl Game at Arizona State.

Rides were not covered by the admission price - they were more, but it was clearly stated in the advertisement so it was not a surprise. You also see few animals while you are at zoo lights - also advertised. Zoo Lights is only in December and early January.

Had fun!!

the Zoo is quite extensive and the gift shop well supplied. It was great for a nature walk as well as to see the exotic animals.

Beautiful zoo. The animals were abundant and well kept. I've never had the oppurtunity to feed a giraffe before visiting this zoo. My one year old grandson had as much fun as I did.
I enjoyed the trees and plants as well. Most of them were unfamiliar to me since I live in Maryland. I wish more of them had been labeled.
