“Great place, great owners, great price”
Reviewed March 13, 2011

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, my colleague and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. We were skeptical, due to the low price, but believed the good reviews. They were absolutely right! The hotel rooms look recently renovated, very clean, nice bath, ironing board/iron, microwave and frig in the rooms. Coffee, juice and snacks served in the morning in the lobby. Quiet neighborhood, near downtown and most major attractions. As 2 females, we felt very safe. Ask for an upstairs room...they come with a nice balcony. Sure, it overlooks another hotel and parking lot, but nice anyway. The owners are very cordial. The first morning we were there, the coffee wasn't ready when I went downstairs. A few minutes later, we received a phone call from the owner's wife to advise the coffee was ready.
I just checked out of this hotel this mornng and felt it very important to post this comment as soon as I could.

We stopped here for our first night stay in US after flying into Sky Harbour Airport.
This was our first taste of American hotel rooms, huge, spotlessly clean, and superbly equipped. There were also mini doughnuts to help yourself to in the morning.

We strongly dislike spending money on hotels when we are away for business when you basically only sleep and shower there. (By the way the bed was comfortable and the shower was awesome! )
The room was super clean!!
It was within walking distance to downtown & Arizona Center.
Dan, the manager was very helpful and accommodating.
Room had small desk. Refrigerator and micrwave included.

My wife and I were so comfortable here, and the hospitality was incredible. More than clean, this place is spotless. More than service, Dan and company took care of us in every way. The location is great for a number of reasons--downtown, close to many attractions, near medical facilities, excellent restaurants abound within a couple miles radius. The rooms were large and properly appointed. And VALUE! This is the best deal you'll find in 2011 for a place to stay. We can't wait until our next visit to Phoenix. We will stay at Budget Lodge Motel Downtown.

The Budget Lodge in downtown Phoenix at first glance may not look the most inviting with its tiny lot and dated signage but don't be fooled. What they don't spend on a blingy exterior, they put towards cleanliness, security and basic comfort. Entering the modest lobby I was immediately surprised at how bright and clean the tiled floors and carpet were, no musty odor at all. The room was equally surprising. For less than $60 a night, we got a king size bed, cable tv, heat/air unit, tiny fridge & microwave (wow!), efficient stand-up shower w/ hair dryer, closet with iron & ironing board and wireless internet! The room looked and smelled clean, the bed was comfortable. What a great deal without sacrificing comfort and cleanliness. We stayed at this place based on previous Trip Advisor reviews (thank you!) Support this place for its great value but also because it's not a chain and we need to support the small business owners.

We were in town for the Rock and Roll Arizona Marathon, and found the location of the Budget Lodge downtown to be a perfect location. We were not disappointed with anything, whatsoever. The management team was very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.

I came into town for the Phoenix marathon and needed something that was close to downtown without it breaking the bank but also wanted something that was clean and good hotel. The Budget Lodge met all my expectations in cleanliness and amenities, very good for the price. Complimentary breakfast and free Wi-Fi were nice. The walls were a little thin but I was able to get a good nights rest. Would recommend to anyone, a good value for the price.
