Staff at the front desk was much less than friendly at the time of check in. The ground floor room was right next to the bar and pool table area in a corridor that appeared to be a major thoroughfare for people to travel back and forth from the parking lot, and right outside our windows was the designated "smoking area". Often the door separating our corridor from the lobby was found propped open allowing significant extra noise. The dog in the room next door had an annoying sporadic bark that made our evening less than enjoyable since, acoustically, it sounded as if he were directly in our room. Environmental controls were difficult to calibrate a consistent comfortable room temp. I expected to be able to turn on the fan in the room and at least try to drown out some of this noise, but there was no option to just run the fan. The wallpaper nearest the desk was torn up / obviously scratched. And finally the pillows did not provide enough support so once we had an opportunity to sleep, it was less than comfortable. I expected friendly, accommodating staff that showed more appreciation for my business and less interest in doing their nails and consuming their 7-11 sized soda. Cool looking lobby, interesting rooms, service was less than stellar. Could have found somewhere else for the same price that had a more relaxing room.

Room Tip: I would recommend ANYTHING off the ground floor.

This is a great place to stay as I often visit here during trips to Phoenix. The staff is wonderful, particularly Deandre, one of the assistant managers. They are always very friendly and helpful and while not having the resort amenities, the staff do as good a job as other places that I have stayed in Phoenix including the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass and Phoenician. In addition, it is a good location, right near the airport and light rail, making it easy to get around. The only warning is that the noise on the street side near the light rail can be noisy late into the night because of the light rail trains. Other than that and a lack of restaurant choices in easy walking distance (I do like the Ruby Tuesday a great deal right next to the hotel), I can highly recommend this property

Room Tip: Rooms on north and west side are quieter.

Thank you for both your comments as well as your high recommendation! Diandra is one of our up and coming Super Stars, and I will make sure she receives a copy of your phrase. We all here pride ourselves on providing the highest level of customer service, as well as doing our best to enhance the guests' overall experience. I agree that the light rail is a tremendous asset, but unfortunately it does come with the cost of some noise.

The usual Aloft experience. Really nice night clerk who was very helpful and friendly when I arrived exhausted at 1am. Room extremely clean. The hot breakfast sandwiches are over-priced. Decent deal on a cash-and-points stay.

Arrived late into Phoenix Airport and we had booked the Aloft using points. What a great place the Aloft is. Shuttle service to/from the airport. There is a place to get food and there is a bar BUT not the BIG box like the big chain hotels. NICE NICE NiCE!!!!

They also have a pool. Go and enjoy.

We loved our experience at Aloft - while it's in more of an industrial area, it was only a short drive to Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain, and all the shopping you could want. Easy access to the airport via car or take their shuttle. The happy hour at the bar was quiet but the bar tender mixed an awesome martini! Staff was very friendly, rooms were very modern, funky and clean but also comfortable for the night. The 24 hour snack bar was fully stocked and the breakfast options were great - everything was very reasonably priced. Only complaint was a loud bachelorette party making slightly too much noise at night but that was hardly a reflection of the hotel. We will certainly look for other Aloft locations in our future travels.

Room Tip: Make sure you check the location on a map before booking to ensure you are good with the location.

This was our first stay at an Aloft and I really like the concept.

I want to describe it as kind of a no frills, self service hotel, but that makes it sound like those are negatives. What I mean is that it doesn't have some of the amenities of similar level hotels (such as bellman, room service (at least I think), full service restaurant), but those are things that I don't usually use or value as highly anyway. In fact, I'd rather forego those and save some money. I'm assuming that's the idea behind the Aloft concept.

The room itself was comfortable, quiet (maybe some noise from the airport, but not bad at least on our side), and clean.

I also liked the breakfast "window" for it's reasonable price and convenience.

It's location was convenient for us (just needed a place to stay after a flight that arrived at night), but if it weren't for the airport, I can't see why one would stay in this location as the area has kind of an industrial feel.

This is my second stay in an Aloft (the other in Bangkok) and I must say I'm impressed with these hotels. Very stylish, ultra-modern. Room design is unique and comfortable. The tile showers with the extra large spout are fantastic. This hotel is an easy 5-10 minute drive to the airport or rental car return. It's quiet enough to sleep at night though.
Other:
Trendy bar in lobby area
Decent workout room with new cardio machines - only dumbbells and 1 strength machine though
Next door to Ruby Tuesday which has a full bar and great food for <$20.
Free parking
Free wifi
Free water
Only downside is no restaurant onsite but Ruby's is close so no worries.

I would recommend this to anyone needing a good hotel near the Phoenix airport.

Room Tip: Facing the parking lot will be quieter at night
