“Fantastic!!!”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

It rained our first day in Az. so we went to the Heard Museum. We took a guided tour of the museum with a very educated guide. Then we set out on own to revisit the areas we had seen and the rest of the museum. Thier collection of Native American art and jewerly is fantastic. They had a special exhibit on the Indian Schools (not one of our Nation's best efforts) as well as another on the Codetalkers. We are not big art museum folks, but this place was terrific. Don't vist this region without going there.

“What a great day to spend a day or 2 or 3”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

So much information. I would have liked to come back a few days in a row. I look forward to coming back next year. The information is awesome, the displays are beautiful. I listened in and followed along on a tour. Wonderful people who answer many questions and share so much. The Indian School display was awesome. North Dakota schools even shared in the display.
Don't miss this place.

“Don't Miss the Heard”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

A gem of a museum that merges the history, culture and art of the local Indian Nation. Something for everyone. Guided tour highly recommended or you might feel overwhelmed. Friendly and knowledgable docents. Museum also houses a sizable bookstore, art gallery, gift shop and cafeteria. Plan on minimum of 2 hours but you could easily spend the better part of a day. One of the best curatorial presentations I've ever experienced.

“Must See”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

If you are in Phoenix and interested in history do not miss the Heard Museum. They have changing exhibits, as well as sponsor special events. Beautiful grounds and a restaurant (indoor or outdoor seating) that uses local products in their menu.

“Quiet atmosphere to study & learn”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Very relaxing rooms that featured a wide variety of interests for history, animals, lands and art work. The nearby city parking made it convenient too. Great gift shop with items of all prices and many children's educational items.
