A wonderful collection of Indian pottery, art and jewelry. Our tour guide was very informative about the cultural and historical aspects of local tribes.

“A Lot More than you expect”

I thoroughly enjoyed this museum. There is a ton to see in, and the exhibits are very well done. It seems like every corner has another part. It is easy to get lost around every bend.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

If you are into educating yourself on the Native Americans, the navajo's, hopi's etc its a lovely and friendly museaum. look for deals its a little pricey on the entry fee $18.00. I found some great gifts in the shop on premises.

“Interesting small museum; moving exhibits!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

This is a small museum that is jam-packed with artifacts, wonderful exhibits, and knowledgeable docents. If you like Hopi kachinas, beadwork, pottery, etc. you will be in heaven. There is also a lovely sculpture garden and a patio with fountains where you can have lunch. We only had a few hours, and it was just not enough to take it all in. Some displays are permanent, and some are rotated in and out. At the moment there is a moving and excellent exhibit about how Native American children were forced to go to boarding schools away from their families in order to become "Americanized" -- heartbreaking. On 10/27 another exhibit is opening, about Navaho code talkers from WW II. Absolutely take your visitors from other parts of the country!
