We took the grandchildren and they loved it. They are 1 and 4. We spent the time doing interactive puzzles, and making flowers out of crepe paper. There is so much more to do. We will have to go back on our own. Don't forget to ask for the Seniors discount, if you qualify.

Outstanding displays, particularly of the native American artifacts. Only wish there was more. Bookstore and shops on-site provided a great variety and selection.

This was our first visit to the Heard, but won't be our last. The artifacts are unbelievable and the various galleries provide indepth information about the Southwest Native peoples. The tours (free with admission) are especially helpful, as the docents provide in depth history and insight regarding the exhibitions.

The museum has plenty to see so allow plenty of time on your own. Try to join up with a tour, well worth the time. Even the people who work in the gift shops are knowledgable and seem to love the place. We also visited one time just for the cafe and peaceful gardens. The building/garden itself is interesting. The whole place has a zen like environment which is interesting since the history of what happened to the Indian people is not a peaceful situation at all. I also enjoyed the attitude of respect for the earth and spent time in reflection in one of the many outdoor seating areas. Parking is available and easy to reach via public transport. Military discount available, check their website for other discounts and programs.

If you will be down town Phoenix, this museum is worth the minimal entrance fee. The collection is excellent and substantial. The best American Indian collections of pottery, kachina dolls, bolo ties, and jewelry. I recommend the free tour.
