I saw some poor reviews before we came and was a bit nervous....so my expectations were low... but I was pleasantly surpised. Its a nice and unique looking hotel. Nice pool and playground for our son. The room was pretty good. No complaints from me.
My husband noted that he saw some garbage on the grounds that were not picked up over the course of a few days that we stayed there... so maybe not meticulous care of grounds?? But for what we paid, i was happy with our stay. No problems at all. Quiet room too.

Thank you for having faith in us and giving our unique property a try. Our full two-room suites are great and they are complemented by the lush courtyard and relaxing pool area. It’s much more than expected for an airport hotel. You also noted our quiet rooms. I hope that you slept well and were well rested for a busy day in the great Phoenix weather. We look forward to having you stay with us again soon.
Sincerely,

Just stayed here this past weekend and it was lovely! After a very trying time getting to Arizona, all we wanted to do was get settled and sleep! Very pleasantly surprised that our room ,227, was exactly like the pictures on this site. Sometimes the room isn't exactly what you get when you arrive but our room was very roomy and comfortable for our family. The cookies are also delicious as always! The only thing is that if you have trouble walking, then you might want to request a room closer the elevators. Our room was pretty close to the elevators but then we had to walk down the hall to get to the parking lot. Check in was easy and fast. Check out was not as friendly and could have been better. We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast so I hope that we can visit and stay here.

Thank you for the great review! I am pleased that we were just what you needed after a long trip. Our freshly baked chocolate chip cookies are always a sure-fire hit with our guests. Next time please give our complimentary buffet breakfast a try… you’ll love that too.

The hotel is really nice and great staff. The free breakfast is quite good and a decent variety. Unfortunately there are few eating options nearby. If you don't have a car then there is a Ruby Tuesday just south on 44th and just a little bit farther is the light rail. I work for the government and they don't usually pay for rental cars, so I ended up trying to find another place to eat nearby, but the surrounding area is sketchy. After the first night I just took the rail downtown or to ASU where there are multiple great food options. Also, the room service menu has more food options than the restaurant which seems strange. The food at the restaurant is pretty good but kind of spendy. I just wanted a burger or sandwich but you can't get there were few of these on the restaurant menu and when I got back to my room there were multiple that looked good on the room service menu that weren't available in the restaurant. All in all the hotel was very nice, clean, had a nice pool, a very good exercise facility and great staff. The hotel is very close to the airport with a convenient free shuttle which is great. Also, it was fairly quiet as far as I could tell, so I give this hotel an excellent.

Thank you for the positive feedback regarding your recent stay with us. The light rail is a fantastic benefit to have one block from the Hotel. Downtown Phoenix and downtown Tempe are only minutes away via light rail for restaurant variety and nightlife. Our free 24-hour airport shuttle also adds to the convenience. We look forward to your next visit to Phoenix.

Stayed in room 121 on Feb 1,2013. Broken down couch with a tear in the arm fabric. Carpet had black stains on it behind the door. Loud noise from pool equipment that was right outside of the room. Could hear this pool equipment with the door closed. Buffet breakfast was good except for the coffee. It tasted awful. I paid $157.00 and I was disappointed in the room. Check in personnel were not that nice. A little snotty.

Traveling from the NE PA in Dec to warm and sunny Phoenix is always a perk. Add the great DoubleTree customer service and DoubleTree amenities and it's a little piece of Heaven at the end of a long busy day...
From my very first DoubleTree/Hilton stay many years ago in Nashville, TN to this stay in Dec 2012, I have always been impressed by the superior service and well maintained and comfortable facilities.
Thank you Phoenix Staff for making this another excellent experience.

We stayed here in July.

The lobby was nice and the room/suite was very clean and spacious! The warm cookies presented at check in are delicious!

As we were getting the rest of our luggage from the car, my son noticed some odd looking orange brownish clouds approaching. We thought it was possible a thunderstorm coming. It turned out to be a sand storm! There was a lot of sand whipping around but the way the hotel is set up when we opened our room door, the area was protected a bit from the building. The parking lot had little visibility!

After the storm passed we used the pool. The maintenance crew was quick to come and clean out any leaves and debris that blew into the pool and hot tub.

Be sure to ask for a luggage cart when checking in because they are locked up and the desk clerk might make you wait again in order to get one as happened with us (only negative of our stay there) !

There was a gas station on the way to the airport to be able to fill up the rental car which remained on the full level when we returned it.

I have come to enjoy the quirkiness of the DoubleTree brand and this one did not disappoint. Standard 2XTree service and amenities but like most DoubleTree properties, there isn't another one like this in the portfolio. The rooms are reminiscent of an Embassy Suites excepting the traditional covered courtyard is open. Service was good, food was fine, no issues at all. It is a challenge to find this place at night, I wish I could offer a secret, there isn't one.
