If you are a visitor to the desert, this is a great intro to all the flora. Easy walking trails. Also have a butterfly area. Chihully glass exhibit was spectacular. Also took a Bonsai class there.

We strolled through the beautiful Cactus Gardens looking up at 10 ft. Specimens. We where there in March, and it was already hot !!! If you are sensitive to the heat ,dont go in the Summer! My Advise is, always carry Bottles of Water with you ...

You will love this Garden setting with tons of different cactus species! The staff is very informative and the park well labeled. We had friends visiting from France and rented guided tour equipment for them and ourselves too. What a useful tool they were! As we entered the park there is currently a Dale Chully piece displayed. One of the staff remarked that he would be back; hopefully with more!
Be sure to bring water and an umbrella as the majority of the paved walk is in the sun! Don't miss the gift shop. Nice items and many on sale with a helpful staff! The one clerk remarked to come back in October for their plant sale!
After your visit you will be so much more informed and recognize the cactus plants in your surrounding area!

I was able to see this amazing place in early 2013 with my favorite Aunt and Uncle, it was the most peaceful & quite destination, it was exactly what was what we needed, made all 3 of us just feel inner peace & relax... to forget about all the outside noise &issues consuming our minds and lives of just day to day living.
An escape from stress about all the things on our minds that came with the troubles of how to manage life like for all people it brings different aspects or levels in which we have to face as individuals & sometimes to just escape to nothing an array beautiful tranquil scenery by this amazing botanical bliss was able to create the time to humble ourselves and capture the meaning behind natures beauty and life as we know by staying grounded and living in the moment really lives up to its meaning. It creates energy amongst people even the ones that find it impossible to focus and relax... but trust me that changes, just by entering through the gates you are overwhelmed with this quaint little place it instantly screamed out happiness in life starts by staying mindful and taking in the here and now of this special nature scene it has potential to start the change in their worlds one step at a time.
I loved it and would like to visit again...

It is always interesting to see the displays at the Desert Botanical Garden and especially so around Christmas and during their butterfly exhibit. Whenever we have out of town visitors and go there, they are always impressed. So much good information about the desert.
