A thoughtfully designed space, keeping the desert as unchanged as possible. Springtime offers many exceptionally beautiful blooming cacti.

This is a really interesting attraction for all ages. Although it's right in Phoenix you feel as if you are out in the countryside, with great mountain views. The variety of cactus is amazing & different trails show how they are used and their importance for Native Americans in their traditional culture. Even my husband (not normally a fan of botanical gardens) found it fascinating. A great way to spend a couple of hours & get a taste of Arizona.

Even if you're not into the SW landscape it's worth an hour or so.

This park is really nice if you want to see a lot of desert plants and animals, along with some cool sculptures and educational information.
We really enjoyed walking down the pathways and looking at beautiful cactus, flowers, bunnies, quail, hummingbirds, butterflies and a lot of other birds. Lot of photo ops here.

We live in Phoenix and are from the Boston area, so we have a hard time finding cool places to take people when they come to visit. The DBG was the perfect place to take my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law when they visited recently. There is a bit of walking involved, so be prepared if you have a hard time walking, but they showed off the Arizona plants and animals nicely. There are great views of the valley from some of the trails. We went on a nice day, but if you go on one of our hot days, be prepared with water. Definitely a good place to check out.
