My wife and I took the Grand Canyon day trip with Charlie and really enjoyed ourselves. Excellent commentary. Lunch will serve well for dinner too - huge sandwiches. Trip from the Canyon thru the Navajo reservation was surprisingly (to me) very scenic.

Comments have been made regarding unsafe driving. i found Charlie to drive the speed limit. And while there are some curvey roads, you need to remember that the drive is experienced in driving the van and experienced in driving the roads. Your safety won't be compromised

We were staying at the Hyatt Regency at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale. 360 Adventures in the Hyatt helped us book a day trip to Sedona.

The DETOURS company picked us up promptly on time at 6:45am. We stopped at a couple of other local hotels and resorts to pic up other passengers and then were on our way. Our tour guide was Montana. He was extremely knowledgeable about the local attractions as well as other interesting facts about Arizona. He had a great sense of humor which kept us all talking and laughing. The other passengers were great as well. You can really tell that Montana loves his job. Montana kept the bus locked anytime we got off so we could leave out bags in the bus. Montana also had a cooler of cold bottled water on the bus which we were allowed to drink without limit.

Before I start listing all the stops we made, I should say that we never felt rushed. It seems like a lot to fit into a day but there really was ample time. Ok, the onto the stops.
--First stopped at Montazumas Castle and Museum. Montana gave us a brief overview of the site and then we were able to walk round to explore things on our own. The admission was paid for my the tour.
--Next we went to the Bell Rock (and Capital Rock..i think). Again, we all had plenty of time to take pictures and walk around. Montana was there to answer any questions and help snap some pics of us.
--The third stop was the Chapel of the Holy Cross. This was BEAUTIFUL. Once again, Montana was there to talk to us about the names of the different rock formations, etc. This church was so pretty and had a lovely gift shop in the basement.
--The fourth stop was the Vortex. It was a great look out spot to see the City of Sedona and the mountain range in the back group.
--The next stop was lunch. Ive seen several people post that they had sandwiches on board but we actually stopped at a restaurant in Sedona and had a very nice lunch. This was paid for by the tour (as were the admission costs of anything else we visited).
--There were a couple of people on our tour that had signed up for the Pink Jeep Tour. They had done this tour before and said it was great. So we dropped them off at the jeep place and then Montana gave us two options. He would take the rest of us up the mountain to the Coconino National Forest for a bit and then back to Sedona to shop for about an hour OR we could just take the full 3 hours to shop in Sedona. Of course we all opted to see the Coconino National Forest. This was a great decision. It was a beautiful look out point and there were local craft makers were there selling their handmade goods.
--After reaching the top of the mountain (6420 ft!!) and looking around we headed back down to do some shopping in Uptown Sedona.
About an hour later, we met up with the rest of our party and Montana and headed back to Scottsdale.

We thought this was a GREAT tour and Montana was a GREAT tour guide. We saw a lot of stuff and gain a lot of knowledge. We never felt rushed. If you are in the Scottsdale area and want to see some amazing sites, call DETOURS and ask for Montana. You will not be disappointed. I think he also does the Grand Canyon Tour as well.

We took a tour with Detours from Phoenix. We were picked up from our hotel. Gina was our guide, and she gave us a running commentary on the fauna and flora of the beautiful Arizona landscape. When we stopped in Sedona, we had a wonderful lunch, which was included. She brought plenty of water for us. The trip to the Grand Canyon was scenic, but I am glad we did not drive ourselves. After spending time at the GC, we stopped at a Navajo Indian Reservation.
THIS TRIP IS NOT TO BE MISSED, and Gina of Detours was the perfect guide.

My husband and I went on a Grand Canyon trip through Detours and I'm so glad that we did! We were staying in Scottsdale and though we wanted to see the Canyon, the thought of a long drive through a new area was not appealing. Detours was the perfect option! Our driver and guide, Charlie, was very knowledgable about the area in general and the canyon itself. The drive went quickly with a fun group of fellow explorers and Charlie's friendly conversation. We stopped briefly outside of Sedona fto take in the ciews of Bell Rock and the beautiful scenery. After a 30 minute stop in Sedona, we continued up through the beautiful road through Oak Creek Canyon. ( if you dont like drop offs, sit on the drivers side of the van). We made three stops along the south rim, staying a total of almost 3 hours. Charlie was great about taking our pictures at each stop. The drive back included a stop at a trading post for snacks and possible souvenirs. This was a very fun trip and I'm so glad we did it!

Awesome tour! We had a terrific guide: Montana! He was knowledgeable, accommodating, helpful and funny. He picked us up at our hotel, drove us to 2 spots in Sedona then to the helicoptor, then 3 stops on the Grand Canyon rim ending with a stop at the Navajo Trading Post. We loved the van with the bench seats ripped out and the bucket seats instead. We loved the lunch that was provided and would totally recommend the helicopter portion of this tour as well. I can't say enough good things!
