La Quinta in Peoria was one the hotel choices we were given for our Spring Training package. It was a no-brainer given its location right across from the Peoria Sports Complex. It seems that maybe rooms at this hotel were at a premium, because I wasn't able to book a room here on my own and thus decided to go for the package.

We were very glad we did. Not only was it incredibly convenient to cross the street to the Sports Complex, but the hotel itself was impeccable. Our concierge, Sam, gave us a great room when we mentioned we were there for Spring Training. The room was always clean and comfortable.

The hotel was relatively quiet, and the only trouble we ran into was a t.v. remote with dead batteries (Sam was downstairs with replacements). We were always on the go and didn't have a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi, but both looked well-maintained. The deluxe continental breakfast was fine enough--but you should really check out The Good Egg on Bell Road at least one morning. And, there are acres of other eating and drinking establishments within walking distance of the hotel.

Compared to previous hotels we've stayed in for Spring Training (which I booked independently), this was far and away the best. I'd consider getting another package deal to stay here again next year.

I stayed here several days while having to work long hours.

Location: Terrific as long as you don't need to be really close to lots of sightseeing opportunities. The hotel is right off of highway 101 (but you don't hear it). Restaurant choices are in abundance both on 83rd Street and the adjacent street, Bell. You can get anything from fast food (In and Out Burger, Chik-Fil-A, Del Taco, Subway) to steak, seafood, mexican, breakfast, Italian, sushi, wings, etc. and you can walk to all of these places. Also if you forgot anything there are plenty of stores around (including Walmart and Target). There is a Bank of America in walking distance as well as a UPS and a FedEx/Kinkos if you have shipping or other similar needs. It's also a stones' throw (or maybe that should be a baseball's throw) from the Peoria Sports Complex, which hosts the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres at spring training. It's about a 40-minute drive from the airport. There *was* a 2am double shooting of two super bowl visitors at another hotel a few blocks away but I think it stemmed from a bar incident and was an isolated, unusual event. I never had a concern about my safety and it is in a nice area.

Staff: Friendly and helpful, no issues.

Grounds: There is a nice pool and hottub on site as well as a small fitness room with a few treadmills, bikes, etc. There are also tvs in the fitness room.

Meals: The hotel serves breakfast only. While I was there it was not the run-of-the-mill muffin in a wrapper type of breakfast. Lots of fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, juices, coffee, cereals, and make-your-own waffles.

Rooms: Small and efficient and include a hair dryer, ironing equipment, fridge, micro, etc. My room was showing a little wear (curtains hanging off the rod) but it was just fine. I could hear muffled talking from the adjacent room but the walls certainly are not paper-thin. Cleaning was varied; the staff came it at different times and sometimes the bathroom was not completely cleaned.

Overall: If I had business in the area I would certainly consider staying at La Quinta again.

Another Business Trip and first stay at this location. I was very happy with the location and the variety of restaurants in the area. The room and amenities on the property were great. Had a great view of the pool. The staff was great and got be checked in and out without any hassle. Would definitely recommend for a good night's rest!

We have stayed at La Quinta for years as a group of 20 or so Padre fans for spring training. For the upcoming year, 2007, they have lost our reservations. They have a new manager. Better verify your reservations in advance folks, or you may be scrambling like I am doing now.

The hotel is in a great location for Spring Training if you are a Padre or Mariners fan. The hotel itself is nice enough, but old and not as clean as it should be. You can tell the floors aren't aas clean as they should be by walking around with white socks on.

The last time we were there we had to have them come change the sheets on the pull out couch as they obviously had not been changed. There were crumbs in them.

We stayed at the La Quinta in Peoria March 26-28, 2006 and loved it! If you are in town to watch the San Diego Padres or Seattle Mariners at Spring Training, this is the perfect place to stay. The stadium is right across the street, less than 5 minutes to walk. The rooms were very nice and spacious, and ours had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There are wonderful restaurants within walking distance. If you like great steak, we highly recommend Cattleman's Grill. Most of the restaurants nearby don't open until 11 AM, so you have to drive a ways for breakfast, but not too far. The prices during Spring Training are definitely more than during the rest of the year, but you can't beat the location!

Stayed at La Qunita from 1/9 - 1/11/05. Location was great, with a PF Chang's, Cheesecake Factory, Elephant Grille and Red Robin all within 500 feet from the hotel.

I stayed at the La Quinta on a business trip in April. the staff was great and accomodations clean, quiet and comfortable. It was also conveniently located to the mall and lots of dining options. This La Quinta meets and exceeds the standards I have come to know and expect of La Quinta. I will definitely stay here next time I am in the area and recommend this as the ONLY place to stay in Peoria.
