From the moment we drove our motorcycle onto the ranch and checked in we were treated with enthusiasm and care. The ranch is full of opportunities to bird watch, swim, mountain bike, hike, visit the monument....so many wondeful things to do so little time! The room was charmingly decorated and our every need was considered, from the well-stocked bathroom to the generious supply of bottled water. The grounds are lovingly kept and the food was excellent. The staff was always helpful, cheerful and competent. Thanks so much for the great experience. We will be back and will tell our friends they won't find a better "getaway" anywhere else in Arizona.

Room Tip: Each room has its own personality.

After 4 visits in a year, it's obvious that we love Sunglow Ranch. It's not posh, not glitzy; it's without frills, but has everything you need; it's not looking for the next big thing. What it is is absolutely relaxing, lovely, simple, charming, and so very easy. The staff is helpful; the ranch dog is fabulous, the food is simply prepared & darn good. Breakfasts are really wonderful (their own free range pet-able chickens) and if you need lunch they will accommodate with a picnic or lunch on the porch. You can find lots to do (hike, horseback ride, bocce, etc.) But you can also bird watch -- there's always a pr of binoculars and a bird book within reach -- with a complimentary cup of coffee and cookie, enjoy the salt water pool, and just listen to the peaceful sounds and beauty of the "Sky Islands." It's a wonderful place to paint, or pretend you can.

There are a number of special events, wine tastings, holiday dinners. Oh, and there is that fabulous sleep of the good and righteous -- whether you are or not!
2 easy hours from Tucson...worth every mile.

There is/was/will be a nice pond, but the lack of precipitation in this part of AZ has left the resident flock of geese a bit cranky and the canoe unused. The summer monsoons should help; perhaps the heron pair will return.

Room Tip: Acorn! But all are great

We were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful retreat establishment. The staff was very friendly, the rooms inviting and comfortable, and the food was quite delicious. We loved the variety and number of birds we observed at the feeders and seeing the deer at the lake. We didn't know about the pool and jacuzzi -- should have brought our suits! Nothing fancy, no TV's, but a nice, quiet, peaceful place to stay.

My wife and I have never stayed at a place that was so clean and beautiful.
This is the best place to experience the beautiful high desert and the best star gazing in your life. Everything is in perfect detail...the food in the restaurant will rival the best New York and LA places to eat. If you want incredible beauty and quiet and the best nights sleep that you have ever had....then...simply....STAY at the SUNGLOW RANCH.

Sunglow Ranch is a very special resort/ranch. Our daughter and son in law were married at the Chricahuas National Park and all of the guests stayed at the ranch for the weekend. Pam, the manager, was very personable and accommodating. She was on top of everything and willing to do anything for us. The staff was fantastic and so was the food and wine. It was a beautiful setting for all of the wedding festivities and very intimate. The staff transformed the cafe into a beautiful dining room and, due to some unusual weather, transformed the conference room in to a cozy bistro. It was magical and everyone loved being at the ranch. The casitas are charming and spacious. The hiking and grounds are perfect for all levels of activities. Even the little ones loved it there---the horse swing, canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, hiking,EVERYTHING! It is an amazing place with an amazing staff. You will not be disappointed.

We were only able to stay for one night, but it was memorable. The setting, services, and food were excellent. Next time we'll go for several days and see the various outdoor sights around the ranch.

Sunglow Ranch truly specializes in being ambassadors of guest happiness! After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor my husband & I were ready to experience our first visit to a guest ranch. The 4.5 mile drive on an unpaved road had us wondering if we made the right decision, but after viewing the property and the warm greeting we received at check-in any doubts we might have had disappeared. Thoughtful attention was present in every detail in our room-from the fresh baked welcome cookies to the spa robes & plush bath towels to the unique room furnishings. But my favorite place is the Sunglow Café! Live orchids & candlelight compliment the delicious entrees. Then you begin to notice all the small details that are a signature throughout the ranch. The old carved door hanging on the wall, an amazing 15th century cabinet, music softly playing in the background, coffee served in beautiful old china cups and saucers. Attention to service which rivals the best of city restaurants-We LOVE this place! There is a porch that runs around the café perimeter, as well as a ramada and beautiful pool area that invites you to relax and enjoy the stars at night and the birds and wildlife during the day. There is a large pond that attracts dozens of deer each night at dusk. Great wireless internet service keeps you connected in case you are anxious about the absence of telephone and television in your guest room. We will definitely return and will definitely tell our friends about our experience.
