“clean & reasonable lodgeing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

we had a great time at hualapai lodge , room was very clean & comfy. Staff were freindly & helpful. We went on the White water rafting trip and were picked up right at the hotel. Restaurant was very good and breakfast was included in our stay. Ask for a room on the street side as train runs behind hotel and is very loud. We were offered earplugs which we did use. There is also not a lot to do around the hotel.

Room Tip: make sure to get a room roadside as train runs behind hotel

If you are rafting in Peach Springs or visiting the skybridge, then this is the logical choice for lodging.
As other reviewers mentioned, the road side is much quieter. The first night we were in the back, and despite a hearing loss in one ear, I heard the trains all night (even with my good ear buried in a pillow. ) they DO go by about every 15 minutes and they DO feel the need to blast their horns several times.
We were with a group, so didn't order from the menu. The breakfast buffet was good, with lots of choices.
As other reviewers mentioned, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is very pleasant. The front desk provides free ear plugs.
The second night we moved to the street side and the difference was dramatic.
I feel sorry for the people that live in the area and have to learn to tune out those awful trains that run all night.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know how we are doing, we appreciate the feedback. We do know that many people enjoy the roadside rooms more in that it's away from the train side.

We stayed at the Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs, AZ the night before we hiked down to Havasu Canyon. This is the closest motel to the Indian 18 road that leads to the Havasupai Trailhead. It's right off of Route 66 so you can't miss it. We found the motel clean and the staff friendly. The bed was comfy and the bathroom very clean. They have a nice gift shop with lots of 'native' items to purchase. Native American, Robert Tree Cody was in the lobby playing his hand-made flute selling his CDs for those interested. He's a Grammy nominee so that was fun meeting him and getting an autographed CD. There is no alcohol sold or allowed once you are on reservation land so don't bring it in. There is a $1000 fine and up to a year in jail for violators. Respect their laws on Hualapai and Havasu reservation land.

The restaurant on the property is for guests and locals. The service is a bit slow, but hey - you're on vacation. Relax, you're on Hualapai time. Be gracious and kind to your hosts. Enjoy your stay.

Was almost afraid to stay here, but was glad we did. The roadside room was very quiet - did not hear the trains at all. The room, itself, was very clean and fresh. Also the check-in lady was very, very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast - was plenty and fresh. Did not feel the need to pay extra for bacon, etc. Not anything to do in the immediate area, but we did take a short walk and felt very safe. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for roadside room if you don't want to hear the trains.

Spent one night at this lodge and were pleasantly surprised at the facilities. Rooms were well decorated and large, with tradional indian accessories. Coffee machine in the room. 2 large beds. A laundry is available to use which we took advantage of.
We had a room on the roadside(not the train side) and we slept peacefully. My sister had the room next door and spent most of the night listening for the trains every 15 minutes. If you are a light sleeper, then take up the offer of free earplugs from reception.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner, which was fine. There is no alcohol served, so bear this in mind.
The complimentary breakfast was varied and good, and served from 6.30.
Overall a good experience.

No problem with trains if you get a room away from the tracks. Good price with pet rooms. Nice breakfast. Close location to scenic AZ attractions like Grand Canyon Caverns, Colorado River, Keepers of the Wild, Seligman.

Recently stayed here for a meeting and found it to be clean but marginal. The staff seemed to care less except for the tour guides who were bringing in large groups from the Grand Canyon tours. The restaurant had a limited burgers and fries menu except for two things, Indian Fry Bread which was great and their green pork chili. And the beef stew was ok, could have used some spice and flavor. There is no alcohol on site and the internet is censored which surprised me - couldn't connect with my craps blog site.I left is a hurray to avoid an incoming storm and left two pairs or pants in the closet - which I typically don't use and they charged me the cost of shipping - which I intended to pay but then they also charged a twenty dollar service charge which I didn't expect. Nice clean pool area but I didn't get a chance to use. Also had an Indian couple that entertained in the lodge lobby who were amazing. Shelley and Fabian Morningsong. Her voice and flute playing were fantastic. Overall not a bad experience but not a necessary stop unless you are hiking in the area or need a place to sleep.

Room Tip: Definitely! Definitely! - get a room that does not face the railroad tracks as train have to honk in...
