“Perfect Night stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

This is a wonderful place to stay. We will defiantly be staying here again and will pass the word to all our acquaintances. The rooms are beautiful spacious and even have fireplaces (not needed this time of year but would be very romantic and cozy in the winter months. They are family and pet friendly. The price was amazingly cheap for the quality you get we were very amazed and surprised when we opened the door to our room. They do have a pool which we did not use and unable to speak of atmosphere. We were traveling with a large vehicle pulling a good size fishing boat and they were able to accommodate us with parking. We are planning to go fishing again in a couple of weeks and will be making another visit to this wonderful place to rest your feet and head at the end of the day. They even provide good tasting coffee in the rooms and variety of styles of pillows.

Room Tip: We stayed in the back verses up front and had no complaints.

We were looking for a clean and comfortable place to base ourselves in the Rim area, that wouldn't break the bank. This hotel was just perfect for our needs. A little old, but certainly not run down; excellent service. It was easy for us to drive to the lakes or take the rim road, as the hotel is intersected by the two main highways. And yet, it was quiet - we rarely had any problem with traffic noise. My one complaint is the breakfast choices but fortunately there are enough close by places in town for breakfast that it wasn't an issue for us. I did wish they had more information on trails nearby - there was no map for them; one of the gals at the front desk was able to direct us to one at the nearby college, but it was not well marked and almost impossible to find (not their fault, but it would have been helpful to be given some better directions) Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and more than likely will return!

This was the second time we have stayed at this inn. The first time we stayed in one of the spa rooms and everything seemed clean and comfortable. The second time we invited another couple for a day trip to get away from the valley. Their room didn't have an air conditioning unit that worked so they were hot all night. The next morning none of us were able to take showers because of the lack of water pressure. As we were leaving we observed the sprinklers were all working to water the grass and realized this must be why there was no water pressure. I'm sure they could have been readjusted to turn on at a better time. What a disappointment! I think with a little but of effort this inn could be decent but at this time it is definitely not worth the money.

Room Tip: I'm sure the spa rooms would be better than the standard

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We do apologize for the lack of water pressure at the time of your departure. Unfortunately the water pressure was due to the fact that there was a small issue in the back flow control device in the water line at that time. This issue was fixed within a short time of discovery. I regret your very early departure not allowing you to take advantage of the shower. The malfunction of this device also caused the issue with the water sprinklers going off at your noted time, which is not the normal time. We do invite you back and assure your next experience to be excellent.

Best regards,

Brenda Long-GM

Overall this was a very nice experience, but there were a couple flaws. The bed was very comfortable and clean, but foam pillows were a bit too thick for me. Hot tub in room was nice and appeared very clean, but the dead bug on the side of the tub the first night was still there two days later. I seldom walk around a hotel in bare feet, but admit to not always using the slippers here because carpet and tile seemed clean enough. Unfortunately, the shower pan and some of the grout surrounding it were black and I had to wear flip flops in shower. This is a turn off for me I've never understood - our shower at home has been used multiple times every day for 20+ years and is still sparkling white. The base boards around the room also had crusted dust on them - the type you can't just wipe off and it looked as if they had previously solved the problem by painting them (as the paint looked newer than that on the wall).

The room was pleasantly decorated and I actually checked to make sure that the fireplace mantle and picture frames had been dusted - they had. I've notice dust caked on many ceiling fans, but this one looked clean enough to use. Room was dark, even with window curtain and door shade wide open, but there was plenty of artificial light. Thermostat worked well and kept the room at constant temperature. Non-smoking room was great, but somewhat defeated by the folks smoking on the patio just a couple feet away from the air conditioner. Patio was also very nice, but if you end up next to a chain smoker may be unusable (patios are just inches apart). Wi-fi worked consistently both in the room and on the patio, with both my laptop and Kindle.

Breakfast was not much to speak of - two kinds of cereal, sausage and egg patties (I found them inedible, but the young fire fighters seemed not to mind), packaged bagels, toast, yogurt, juice. Weekend breakfast added waffles. So, breakfast not bad for a family saving money, but otherwise I'd sugget the coffee shop on Beeline or another breakfast place. Fargos next door was excellent for dinner and reasonably priced for a couple.

Hotel was exceptionally quiet. I saw dogs, but never heard them. Grounds were well kept. Staff was all quite pleasant and able to provide information about the area.

Room Tip: The luxury room is spacious and worth the extra few dollars if not on a tight budget. Do be prepare...

We stayed in a luxury room with the fireplace and spa tub, everything was very clean and the room was charming with the cathedral wood ceilings. All the staff was friendly and very helpful. They have a grill on property so my boyfriend went to safeway (which is less then a block away) and got steaks while I sat by their pool. I really enjoyed looking up and seeing the pine trees next to the blue sky. The pool and area was also very clean. In the morning we sat on our back patio and enjoyed a cup of coffee. I had to check my e mail before we left and had no problems connecting to the hotel wifi. We will defiantly be back every chance we get. The only downside is our schedule didn't allow us to stay longer. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so comfortable!

Stayed here one night and must say it was not anything like some positive reviews. We arrived early, and our room was not ready. That is understanding, but they had not even started on it. I checked in, we came back at the appointed time, and still was not done.

The room was ugly, one of those spa suites...there was one window, and the room was dark. I was really irritated when their wifi did not work, as I use my ipad everyday, for business as well as pleasure. I noticed a previous reviewer said the exact same thing.

Attached are some pictures, not nice. We left at 6:30 am

Dear guest,

I do appreciate your time in writing this review. I do apologize your room was not ready at your early arrival time. I am happy to say since your review the room has been updated and do regret was not completed at the time of your stay. In the near future, all of our spa rooms and other rooms will be updated with new bathroom sinks & counters, showers areas and more. I do invite you back to enjoy the new updates. Hope to see you again in the near future.

Thank you,

We were in Payson for a wedding and so had no plans to utilize the area for the recreational facilities...which I guess are numerous if you are into hiking, fishing etc. The facility was good for our needs, a place to put our head down at night. We did have the room with the fireplace, which was a nice addition, but too warm to use in late May. Liquor store and fast food places right across the street, and a nice sounding restaurant next door which we did not have the chance to take advantage of (I believe you get a discount). Property suited our needs, but not a destination we would normally seek out.

Room Tip: If you go in winter be sure to get a room with a fireplace...a nice added bonus!
