“Your Usual Mexican food options”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2011

This restaurant is a good option if you are looking for something other than burgers/pizza in Patagonia. The options available are not as varied as if you venture north to the Mexican restaurants in Tucson, but they are still a good place to eat. The soft tacos were well cooked and well made. I did not care for the flavor of the rice, there was too much sauce mixed into it (but that's my preference, my dad *did* like the rice). The refried beans were tasty as well.

“Acceptable Mexican Food in a Three-Horse Town”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2011

This is a 10 table, 2 person (cook & waitress) restaurant with dim lighting and a one-page menu of predictable Mexican food options as well as bottled beer, wine and margaritas. However, given that your other restaurants in town are a burger joint and pizza, Mercedes offered an acceptable option of food as fuel.

On this slow Saturday night in January, the advertised Marlin tacos was substituted with Tilapia but ok. The chimichanga was an over-deeply fried log. And the combination (chile relleno, flautas and taco) was cheese with cheese and cheese). But everything was fresh, fresh cooked and hot. If you go here with proper expectation you won't be disappointed and you'll have a filling meal for your next day's outing.
