It was nice, clean and a great place on the river....hiking, swimming and a boat ramp. Nice and cool on a very hot day.

Well kept facility away from the crowds. Stayed in the ramada overnight right by the rivers edge.
Scenic setting with swimming area just steps away. Not exactly a serene getaway but lots of action on the water. Powerboats, jet skiers, kayaking, swimming, fishing, grilling, relaxing in the shade, or on the sand.

Nice place for the kids. We visited via boat, but it costs too much to get into the park for simply a day visit.

Over the last 2 years we have spent quite a bit of time at Buckskin Mountain, Cattail Cove, and Windsor Beach in Havasu City. This last visit was at River Island Campground. Overall, we really enjoy Arizona State Parks for camping and River Island was no exception. It has clean, modern bathrooms, electric, and water at each site. Sites are quite big, but trees are a little small. The only drawback was one of the Rangers. He was less than helpful to say the least. The other Ranger was quite nice and helped us find some great hiking. Kayaking is too swift in spring, except above Parker dam.

A nice two hour hike with some elevation. Well marked trail and a couple of spurs that extend the walk. Overall, a surprisingly good warm-up hike.
