This is a nice resort overall, particularly for a business meeting. The pool area could use some sprucing up (can't put a finger on it, but its just OK). Rooms are very large, quiet, but a bit dated in decor. Landscaping was very nice, making use of desert foliage. The rooms are spread out in low rise cabins, so there can be a bit of a walk from place to place. Food at a corporate BBQ was surprisingly good for a meal served to so many at once. Service was top notch.

Room Tip: Ask for one not too far from main lobby.

Great resort, beautiful grounds! Very quaint rooms, set like a little village, with individual "adobe" - type buildings. Especially enjoyed the spa - and the outdoor fire pits and music in the evenings. Staff was very nice. My first trip to Arizona, I certainly hope to return!

I stayed at this hotel recently for a conference. My stay was paid for by my employer, but I can say I would have picked a different hotel had I been paying. This hotel is very strange in that it seems like it's been remodeled multiple times and is pieced together. My room seemed old (circa 80s) and had been remodeled several times (low ceilings, felt cramped but new fixtures, tile, wallpaper, etc). The walls were cinder blocks and were finished to look like stucco but you could still tell they were cinder blocks. The bed linens and pillows weren't great; some regular Marriotts I've stayed in have been nicer. The grounds are so spread out. It was a hike to get to the lobby, bar, etc. The outdoor area at the bar and Ritas was nice with fire pits, etc. The food was decent, nothing special. The wait staff was very attentive. Also, the Starbucks was pretty bare bones with limited pastry offerings and not those options found at standard Starbucks. The spa was pretty average as well in terms of just looking dated and not really having that spa-like feel. I played the ambiente golf course, which was nice. There is a shuttle from the main hotel to the course. The only other hotel in Scottsdale I've stayed at was the Westin Kierlin, which I thought was much nicer in every respect. I think of JW Marriott as a step down from the Ritz and this one was multiple steps down.

Room Tip: stay close to lobby

I was in the CamelbackInn for a meeting over three days and everything was perfectly planned.
Restaurant was fine with local food ( 0 Km products ) and excellent beers.
Landscape was really fantastic and relaxing exactly what you need afetr a long trip, people was really nice and friendly, a great experience.

The hotel rooms are set up in "pods", not one building that has all the rooms enclosed. It was kind of hard to figure out our way around the complex on the paths. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The resort restaurants were delicious, but a bit pricey. We traveled with our 3 young kids and it worked out nicely. There is a playground and old west facade for the kids to explore, as well as some short hiking trails on site. The rooms have a kitchenette, so we went to the grocery store (not walkable) for snacks and lunch to have in the room. The rooms were very nice and clean. The pool is lovely with a restaurant that serves poolside. We would definitely go back, mostly due to the cleanliness of the facility and kindness of staff. It was unbeatable!
