As a Plat/Marriott member I sought out what I hoped would be the best spot to use my points. I was not disapointed:

1. The hotel is non traditional for a JW. It is spread out with small buildings and nice rooms. It will be important to be specific about what you want here. Some buildings are more secluded than others, views vary, and some are close to the common areas if you plan to frequent them.

We had a more secluded room in a small builiding with only 2 rooms. Our room was large with a king bed, great atmosphere and patio, the view was good but not great and you could not see much of anything from inside the room. The common areas are simply outstanding and well manicured.

2. Staff: Professional and above reproach from all aspects.

3. Common Areas: Spa/Pool/Restaurants and Patio: We used everything except for the Pool. If you are a spa go-er you will not be disapointed -- normally my wife forces me to get a message.

The highlights for me where the restaurants and patio. Normally I would not be caught dead in a restaurant in my hotel and this was the exception. Allow me to break it down:

a. The patio after dark with live music, every night we were there, was outstanding for atmosphere and setting -- not to mention food drink and service.

b. R Bar (AKA Ritas) After a long day of travel it was good for some apps and drinks along with a great atmosphere outside or in. While I enjoyed everything and it hit the spot, an outstanding bar, and good deserts it would not be my first choice for dinner.

c. Steak BLT: The one hotel restaurant that did not disapoint. Along a nice dinning room and bar we from the inside to the patio, view of Camel Back Mountain at night, for after dinner drinks and desert. We were impressed with the quality of food (my favorite was the lobster salad which I had with Vueve, which they serve by the glass). The bourbon selection is good with many of my favorites including ER 17, PVW 20, and a few speacials.... my compliments on the selection of reserve from woodford.

Finally, the hotel is fairly close to Old Town (15 minutes ish) Mayo on Shea (20 mintues ish) and about 2 hours from Sedona. In Old Town we enjoyed eating at Cowboy Ciao and Herb Box.

Room Tip: Decide if you want to be close to the restaurants or secluded, be sure to ask about the view you wil...

Absolutely awesome resort hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms. We had a large patio with views of Camelback Mountain and the surrounding scenery. Immaculate landscaping everywhere you look. Very quiet and relaxing. Close to Old Town Scottsdale and nightlife. Definitely a place that we would go back to anytime.

You feel as if you are staying in a desert park which makes it so relaxing. The rooms were very well done and modern. My complaint is that they feel the need to charge $14.95 for the privilege
of wi-fi _ no thanks. As for the Spa it was a lot of hype, the food was not good at all. First clue should have been an empty restaurant (for a reason).

Fabulous hotel. Rooms a huge and have proper size fridges and microwaves and a sink area - really useful. Whole resort really beautifully done, pools are great with lots of lilos to relax in the sun on, plenty of pool side cocktails and snacks. Spa area looked gorgeous although didn't have any treatments. Food in the restaurants really nice. Worth asking for an upgrade when you check in and also worth the extra expense of a room with a private pool.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade on check in. Rooms at the back of the resort quieter/not so close together. Upgra...

We could not have chosen better for a 6 night stay while attending a graduation in nearby Mesa. Our room was near the back-just steps from the spa-quiet and relaxing. There are even complimentary golf carts with "chauffeurs" that will take you from your room to where you want to go on the property then bring you back if you don't want to take your car. The staff is friendly and beyond accommodating, especially at the front office (Olivia is a gem!). Food was wonderful (although quite pricey at Sprouts at the Spa), the whole property was just gorgeous. (The inability to cool down the VERY hot shower water-it was August-was not too pleasant, but the staff was very understanding as this seems to be an issue when it's really hot.) That aside, we would DEFINITELY return!

This resort is stunning! My room was towards the back of the resort which suited me perfectly. Extremely quiet and secluded. Loved the oversized room and cute porch. Enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, quail and rabbits all over the property. Staff were extremely friendly. The grounds crew kept things in perfect shape and were cleaning all the time. They were also very friendly and waved when passing along. The spa was fantastic. I loved making a little sachet as a keepsake. The adult/spa pool was nice & the no-cell phone policy was enforced which I greatly appreciated!! The main pool was also very nice. Enjoyed the flavored water and great drinks/service by the pool staff. The views of Camelback Mountain while swimming and floating are stunning. Loved the floats and noodles!!! The Starbucks was convenient right off the lobby any time of day. I did not eat at the restaurants except at the spa which was ok (pricey but good)so I cannot comment on the others. I lived in the area so I ate at my favorite local restaurants instead. I will absolutely return to this property and bring my golf clubs next time!

I have been going to spas in Scottsdale/Phoenix for years and have always felt at home at the Camelback Inn SPA....the management, especially JOE ROMERO is top notch in service, the ladies who work in the cafe and at poolside delivering drinks and food are so service oriented, they are on top of everything...The food is amazing...Sammy who works at the spa always remembers me and it can be a year and still feel like I just left. Joe Romero has been there for years and is always kind and patient and makes sure everything is running smooth...he should be recognized as a top employee at the marriott who is dedicated and hard working....The staff is very professional and the pool is wonderful , the spa facilities are great....the FOOD is amazing and nothing is out of place....Needed to make special review just for the spa....deserves an award and the services are great too..the Bindi wrap, the signature treatments, the adobe clay wrap...all the best....Recent improvements to the showers and steam room look great...LOVE IT
