“Unbelievable Beautify & Serenity”
Reviewed December 11, 2011

I stayed at this resort two weeks ago and wish I could have stayed forever.

The Resort - The landscaping was truly magnificient, I couldn't stop taking photo's. The resort was different than I imagined, there are groups of rooms in adobe like buildings spread all around the resort. Taking a walk is fun, becuase you will enjoy the wildlife (bunnies and birds) along with the beautiful streams and mountain views.

Meals- I ate twice at Rita's and the food was fabulous, the omlete for breakfast was the best I ever had. In the evening their was a singer and guest sat around the patio by the fire.

Rooms- I LOVED our room it was a warm southwest theme and had a very comfortable bed, plenty of space and a lovely patio. The bathroom was large, plenty of counter space, an individual shower and bath, and a great fan too! The rooms are all different and they are NOT your typical hotel cookie cutter boring room.

Gift Shop - A fabulous selection of many southwest items, along with all the necessities you may have forgotten, with very fair prices. I bought a bunch of Christmas gifts there.

The flowers all over the resort are truly worth stopping and admiring, and I did, again and again.

I did not have time to visit the spa but friends of mine have been there and said it was amazing.

You will Not regret staying here, do check out this Fabulous Resort.

Room Tip: Loved room 290!

We again chose to spend our Thanksgiving holiday at Camelback Inn, and again had a very pleasant experience. The staff here is just fabulous in every way. We recognized several of the same restaurant staff from last year, which says a lot about their satisfaction with working there. The housekeeping was excellent.

The Thanksgiving buffet, although quite pricey, is really enjoyable and food of very high quality. It is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours that day.

We took advantage of the spa one day of our stay by booking a couple of treatments. The day after Thanksgiving was extremely busy at the spa, so would not recommend that day if one has other days available during their stay at that time of the year. The only "complaint" I would have is that with the resort fee, I feel the use of spa facilities, i.e., workout room, saunas, whirlpool, outdoor pool, etc., should be included. We have stayed at Enchantment Resort in Sedona, and their resort fee includes use of the spa with just treatments being an extra cost.

This continues to be a very fine resort in a beautiful location.

Stayed here recently for 4 nights and really enjoyed the natural beauty in and around this resort. The rooms are very private and parking is conveniently located close by. We spent a lot of time just hiking around the resort, enjoying the desert plants and animals. We hiked Mummy Mountain, just behind the resort, to give us a taste of what hiking these Phoenix area mountains was like. Camelback was close by, but much more difficult! The resort is beautifully run. Marriott employees are very pleasant without interfering. The Jackrabbit pool is gorgeous and a great place to enjoy the sunset.

this is my second stay in 6years and I enjoyed it immensely. The rooms are in casitas spread over the estate even if you are close to the hub (restaurant and pool) you feel isolated and peacefull thanks to the cactus and all the shruberry around your patio. I saw this time at lewast 5 white tailed rabbits on my lawn at one time. The rooms are very comfortable. It is a huge estate you can walk around. In th evening the sunset is awesome on camelback mountaIN.At night the sky is dark enough to see the stars. There is no noise and the concierge was very helpful in getting directions to sights and restaurant recommendations. I enjoyed lunch on the terace by the pool and had supper at the hotel which was good and very relaxed.

My wife and I found a great flight + hotel package for a "babymoon" vacation a few months before our first child was due...the restaurants onsite are great and the spa was terrific (especially the private pool at the spa; which is a great place to get away from families with children at the main pool). There was a small easy hiking trail in the hills behind the resort with nice views of the valley and Phoenix in the distance. Our only complaint keeping this from a 5-star review is the bathroom in our cabana-style room was a bit dated and in need of updating. Highly recommended regardless, and I can definitely see us going back.

We went there on reward points thanks to my husband who travels so much - so I cannot say about the price of the resort itself.
We stayed over there for 2 nights with a small dog. Note there is a flat fee for pets at $75, regardless of the fact that your dog is a pet or a service animal (since the room needs to be cleaned anyway).
The staff was pleasant and we were given a 1st floor room, pet friendly + a door tag so the staff would be notified NOT to open the door and let the girl loose when she was staying in and not walking with us.
The room was large but very dark, though comfortable.
We liked the resort setting, small buildings amist the landscape made it feel like more relaxing than a one-building hotel. Walking on the property was nice and overall it was quiet. We did not have dinner on the resort, though we had brunch & breakfast at Rita's Kitchen in the resort, and could sit on the patio with our dog. Food was fresh and staff nice without being constantly on your back.
Pool is extremely nice with a separate section for lap swimming. The spa is pricey (but it is to be expected in these type of resorts) but lovely too (I had the organic restorative massage, count a good $160 for one hour, yet you are entitled to use the full spa - fitness facilities at the same time, which includes a large lap pool, fitness classes, etc.).
There is a short "mountain" trail that starts at the back of the resort if you want to explore without going walking hours on.
If your idea of a vacation is lots of activity on site, then it's not for you. If you want to relax, and if you have a car to go explore the area, then I can only recommend it.

Room Tip: Notify the staff beforehead if you are travelling with a dog so you can be accomodated accordingly.

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a great corporate rate through his employer because we would not normally be able to afford a vacation here. We stayed for 4 days in late Oct/Early Nov and found the resort to be very nice.

The front area where the restaurants are is beautiful and obviously recently renovated. I wish that there was another pool at the resort since the only one there was on the small side. The views from the pool are great though with the Camelback mountain in the distance.

Our room was nice, bed was comfy, and there was a fridge and microwave. We found the bathroom on the dated side and cannot believe that they charge for internet.

It's an old resort with a lot of history which was very interesting. Staff was friendly and very helpful as well.
