The view with outside seating is very nice. Food is just average although the Trout is consistently quite good. Service is weak with and the biggest drawback is they would not take a reservation.

The restaurants is a gem...hidden behind a wall we were amazed at the beauty. The view on the patio is gorgeous. Even in the heat, the sprayers kept it tolerable. Our server was super nice and accommodating. He made great recommendations on the menu and we were thrilled with our choices. My husband had the lamp chops and they were yummy. I had their signature trout and it was tasty too. For appetizers, we had the drunken shrimp and truffle fries. Both are good options.
I would recommend a visit if you are in the Phoenix area...short drive from downtown Phoenix.

On the positive side, we were seated, as requested, at a quiet table on the patio with a beautiful view of the mountains at sunset. On the negative side, the patio itself is not as nice looking as shown on their website. We both had the short ribs as a backup to a fish dish. The waiter informed us that the Wild Salmon was from Tasmania since the Alaskan was not yet available, an unlikely story. He told us that the trout was farm raised and we concluded that the grouper was overpriced at $38. The ribs were tasty but stringy.

Our food was served before the waiter even had a chance to bring us a glass of wine. I guess they were telling us that they were disappointed that we hadn't ordered an appetizer and or that the restaurant was relatively empty at 7:00 P.M. It also told us that the food was completely pre-prepared.

Also, it was disconcerting to be served sticky buns as a freebie before the meal was served minutes later because these sugar buns were sure to kill any appetite. They tasted like the ones you get at rest stops or in malls and were particularly out of place for a fine dining establishment.

We finished off the meal with a prickly pear crème brulee with a cactus cookie, both of which were quite nice.

Walked down from our hotel for happy hour. Wonderful 3.00 menu, taco's sliders and those famous sticky buns!
