“Awesome guacamole!”
Reviewed May 21, 2013 via mobile

Stopped here for dinner with a group of business colleagues based on a suggestion from a friend who used to live in the area. The atmosphere is very nice, as it is part of a JW Marriott resort. We started with some tableside guacamole, which was fantastic...fresh and flavorful, just like we make at home. I had the shrimp enchiladas with green sauce - definitely recommended. Another big hit at the table was the chicken enchiladas. The only criticism I have is that the food was rather "Americanized"; I was expecting more authentic. Small criticism, though - overall a great meal.

“Lovely outdoor patio. Mediocre food and service”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

This restaurant came highly recommended from a friend of a friend. We may have hit a bad night but with all the great restaurants in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area this is not one we would revisit for dinner.
Without question the patio area which consists of both dining and lounge tables is large and very enjoyable. The live music was a nice touch and they played for several hours.
As for the dinner, which was the reason we were there; it unfortunately was far less than spectacular. Portions were very small and pricey. One member of our party ordered a prickly pear margarita that looked and tasted like pink lemonade. Drink prices are high which is typical for a hotel located restaurant but you at least expect the "real thing".
The halibut was undercooked and tasteless but the rice and spicy sauce were tasty.
On person ordered the cherries jubilee cheesecake. The very small portion arrived partial frozen and was as far removed from cherries jubilee as could be imagined ( 4 or 5 tart cherries spread about the plate.
We saw the waitress only twice and the dining room was not busy. Once when she took our order and second when she asked if we wanted desert. At no time did she check to see if we wanted to order additional drinks and we had to corral another member of staff for water and soda refills.
Like I said above, it may have been an off night based on the other reviews but we don't see it as worth another try considering our experience.

“Very reliable restaurant--great breakfast buffet, good food”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

Not exciting food, but tasty and reliable and VERY nice staff. When the weather is good (most of the time) doors are all open and if it is a little cool, there are firepits. LIVE MUSIC. Very enjoyable place to eat if you are staying at the resort. OK place to come to to meet friends even if you are not staying at the resort.
