A friend and I visited Elements in mid September. We went on a Friday evening, right before sunset. The hostess accommodated a request for a table with a great view, which we got. As we waited for our appetizers we stepped outside onto the terrace where another staff member pointed out different parts of Camelback Mountain as well as the best places to take pictures. He also pointed out different angles to use with an iPhone to capture the best pictures! Later he stopped by our table to check on us and make sure we got pictures that we liked. Our waiter was great - I wish I remembered his name. He knew the menu well and allowed us make substitutions with no hesitation. Everything from the soup, to the tartare to the fish entrees were all delicious, fresh and substantial. In fact, we couldn't finish our dinners because we were so full! If I'm ever back in Scottsdale, I will be back.

You would need a thesaurus full of superlatives to do an adequate job of reviewing this fine establishment. From the valet parking team to the welcome at check-in; from the great staff at the comfortable bar and then to the awesome professionals who attend to everything at your table, this place will exceed your expectations across the board. The menu is clever, enticing and perhaps the only moment of anxiety a guest will experience is in trying to decide which outstanding dish they will want for their main course. But everything is prepared to perfection and, if your time your reservation well, is joined by another spectacular mountain sunset. I have been here several times, and can say without reservation that the service and quality is consistently above expectations...even if you know what to expect!

Service is great and attentive. Midpriced but no higher than elsewhere and good value. Friday night is especially good because there is live music which makes for wonderful evening and terrific views as the sun sets.

Located within The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, a Small Luxury Hotel member, elements restaurant seems to be the focal point of the resort.

Manning the kitchen is celebrity chef, Beau MacMillan, whose cuisine has a distinctive Japanese touch.

The restaurant itself overlooks the valley with great views of Camelback Mountain at sunset.

The charred edamame is a huge serving with Asian flavors, including sesame oil, black sesame seeds, and togarashi. The lime juice adds a nice citrus zing.

The grilled chicken is cooked perfectly as it remains tender and juicy. The pickled cucumber salad, acts as a palate cleanser with an acidic and sweet taste. Along with the bok choy and red onions, the cucumber adds a nice textural contrast.

The fire roasted shrimp are big and plump. They remain tender since they aren’t over cooked. The pork fried rice adds a nice richness, while the bok choy adds a nice crunch. The sweet chile adds depth of flavor without being cloyingly sweet.

The braised short ribs are super tender, and fall apart with just the slightest nudge from your fork. They have a nice crust but is not dry in the middle. The bacon and brussel sprouts add a nice earthy contrast to the Korean BBQ sauce.

The crème brulee is a classic is not a firm custard, but silky smooth. The burnt sugar adds a texture contrast to the vanilla custard. The pineapple and raspberries are a nice palate cleanser.

The “PB Bomb” is supposed to be a take on the Reese’s peanut butter cup, but while eating it reminded me of the classic candy bar, “whatchamacallit”. This is a rich dessert, but totally worth the calories.

Although Elements Restaurant at The Sanctuary is slightly off the main drag of Scottsdale Road, it’s definitely worth the trip.

The view is fantastic, the service is impeccable. The food was also great, we really appreciate the changing menu. We were there for our anniversary tonight and had a great meal. My husband had the soft shelled crab and loved it. I had the short rib with kimchi and thought it was creative and tasty. We will certainly be back again and recommend this restaurant to anyone.
