We have heard a lot about Lon's but could never get it to work in our schedule or would think of it too late to get a reservation. I wish I would have tried harder. My wife and I share a birthday weekend and we wanted something special. I was smart enough this time to plan ahead and we got reservations for the time we needed before our show downtown. We shared with Brett, our server that we wanted to take our time but needed to be done two hours later. The staff was great in balancing out attentiveness with relaxed private time. We arrived as sunset was approaching and sat on the patio. The lighting at the table with the gas lamps was perfect in setting a beautiful tone to the evening as darkness came.
We started with ahi tuna searing on a hot salt block, delicious and fun.
My wife had a delicious piece of salmon and I had a tender cut of tenderloin prepared perfectly. While sides are available, each plate also had accompaniment that the two of us found filling.
We topped it off with desert, a chocolate, salted caramel, ice cream combination that was incredible.
Great wine, lovely atmosphere, live gentle guitar music in the background--a big hit.
