Stayed for 6 nights of what I can only describe as near perfection. The staff were very helpful, the weather, apart from a 1 hour downpour, was excellent, The food at Elements was really good and the service was above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I will be returning especially if we can get the very reasonable rates, it was their off season. A hire car is essential and I would suggest a sat nav which we did not have as at night I found navigating anything other than the main roads difficult but that may just be my ineptitude.

This is an incredible resort, one of the best in the world. However, the resort is currently undergoing a major renovation in the area adjacent to the pool/restaurant/bar/spa complex. All day long you will be treated to the sound of multiple jack hammers, drilling, sawing, and hammering accompanied by clouds of dust. Forget about a relaxing time by the pool or in the spa. You can hear the noise all over the property. This morning we were told by the front desk that the jack hammering was finished, but 30 minutes later it started again. The construction is due to be completed by November. Until then, I would recommend that you avoid Sanctuary.

Please note that the "major renovation" mentioned is an expansion of our main kitchen. We regret the few days of noise due to the need to remove some old concrete.

The remaining work is behind a fence and a wall and we expect minimal noise as the transformation continues.

We stayed the year prior at 4 seasons Scottsdale, but wanted something different even after a perfect rating there.

We found this place to be "pure perfection". Had booked the Mountain view suite and stayed for 4 nights.

Room: Beautiful layout and felt like a villa or condo not a hotel room at all. We had a huge sectional couch that was amazing to lounge on and watch our flat screen TV. We had a kitchen (sorry forgot to cook after we went to Elements :). Our room was massive, but always felt like you were at home/comfortable and luxury all in one. I like all the details including 10-15 luxury magazines and great amenities. The only small knock is the view at 4 seasons was more dramatic. This was nice, but did not face rock formations.

Elements: I'm from Chicago and have top notch restaurants all the time. However, this place was amazing and so fresh which made us go back twice.

One night while hanging out at Jade Bar (ask the bartender questions, he is very passionate about making drinks and ingredients). The head chef came out and we talked to him for a while. He asked if we like Oysters and said they are not on the menu, but he has 12 left. We ordered them to our dinner and it was fantastic. Small touches like this make this place a must for all travelers.

They had a nice wine hour with cheese (complimentary) one evening which 3-4 managers came to greet guests and answer any questions about the resort. Really made you feel specia.

Top notch hotel! Enjoy and will back hopefully soon

It is one of the only places you can relax, be hip at night, and feel like a VIP all in one. I had an amazing time and you will too.

I just spent 2 fantastic days at Sanctuary and can't say enough about it. Staff fantastic - friendly and helpful, property just gorgeous and rooms had really lovely amenities. Every great thing everyone else has said, I echo. Here are a couple of notes that might help when making your choice for a first time visit.

Difference between Mtn Casita and spa casita. According to the staff, Mountain Casita's are part of the original property and have been renovated and have some type of mtn views. Spa casitas sit around the pool and spa and are newly built.

We stayed in a mtn and did not actually see a spa room but if you mind walking uphill back to your room some distance or have general mobility issues, your best to stay in a spa casita. I can't speak to the difference in decor but I thought our room was wonderful. Plenty of space, lots of perks (bath salts and tea lights around the tub). I debated a suite but decided it was just more room than we needed. I did not regret this decision.

Second helpful tidbit - general use of the spa is included for all resort guests. This includes steam room, jacuzzi, lockers, etc. The spa is beautiful, extremely comfortable and a great perk. I'm not sure that I wouldn't have found out about this if I hadn't asked.
(PS had a couples massage that exceeded all expectations).

Needless to say, we're already planning our return. While summer doesn't allow you to take advantage of all the outdoor activities, there is still plenty to do and enjoy.

I stayed here for a couple of days of business and then a weekend of relaxation. This place is just breathtaking with its close to nature feel and wonderful bar, restaurant and pool scene. Its also perfect staying here if you would go to Sedona (as i did) and close to many trendy places in Scottsdale. Rooms are big and nice with good amenities, staff members are very friendly and will make sure you enjoy your stay and i really can't wait to be back!!

The Sanctuary was our last stop on a two week trip to the States and it outshone all the other hotels we stayed at by some way. It is a quiet, attractive, truly relaxing location and has excellent service and top notch accommodation. The Mountain Vista Casita, which we paid more for, was extremely large, with a balcony which had great views over Paradise Valley. We found the service extremely good in all respects and even though we had a few minor hiccups - lights fusing - housekeeping dealt with it in minutes. The food and service in the Elements restaurant is extremely good and although a little pricey is still worth the money. The 3 nights we had there was the highlight of the trip.
