We spent 4 nights in a Mountain Casita and were impressed from minute 1. We were attentively greeted by staff immediately upon pulling into the entrance of the hotel and efficiently checked in. The casita was tasteful and spacious. Beautiful views of the desert and thick concrete walls for silence. All the staff was always polite and helpful. Elements restaurant was great for all meals (although overpriced for dinner and breakfast), and the spa was beyond belief. Guests can enjoy the locker room / hot tub / showers for free as they use the very nice fitness room and lap pool! The location is central, near most of Scottsdale's and Phoenix's attractions, but still is in its own world.

With expectations so high, we were hoping that The Sanctuary was worthy of the rave reviews. We read 'em all: the Prada of boutique hotels, the black Porsche of Paradise Valley. Eager to exchange a business attire for t-shirts and shorts, we arrived at the property for a two-night stay in early December. Well, the hotel -- and the staff -- delivered. Perfectly tucked along the side of Camelback Mt., The Sanctuary is the very definition of casual elegance, indulgence without being pretentious. The spa, the pool, the grounds indeed exceed description. But, for us, the attentive staff separates The Sanctuary from virtually every other hotel or B&B we've visited. Nothing, repeat, nothing is ever left unattended. The rooms provide a welcome respite, although we would've gladly sacrificed some bathroom space for a larger living area around the bedroom (and, you'd figure, The Sanctuary would've been one of the first properties to embrace plasmas or LCDs). Even though so much lies just beyond the grounds, we were more than content to kick back, relax and take in all that this little piece of paradise has to offer.

My mother and I visited The Sanctuary Sept.3rd through the 7th. Our entire stay was absolutely perfect! The service is exceptional...wait staff, spa attendents, maid service etc. These employees greet you with smiles and work so hard to make your stay wonderful. We both had four spa treatments...all were great but the facial was my favorite. We stayed in the spa casita with the outdoor steeping tub. Each night the maid/butler staff comes to your room to light candles, deliver ice, turn down your bed and lay out your complimentary sanctuary slippers. I cannot say enough how pampering this spa resort is. By the way...the food is incredible. Eating at Elements is a must!
For anyone who likes shopping...the area is full of malls and exclusive shops.
This spa resort is first class. I cannot wait for my next visit!

Service was excellent. Grounds were nice. Spa casita was a good size, outdoor tub is a must do...especially if you're from a big city (like NY)! Elements was good. Not a big spa/resort. Went in early August so not too many people which made it a nice retreat. Don't think I would've enjoyed it as much if it had been packed.

It just doesn't get any better than this. What a gorgeous property! I was there for a business retreat and we were treated like kings (and queens) the whole time. You come back to your room at night and there are candles burning, soft music playing, bathrobes and slippers set out -- fabulous! Sure, it's pricey but it's worth it!! The workout facilities at the spa are the best I've ever seen!!

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Arizona in the middle of summer even with the extreme heat. From the moment I arrived the staff was warm, personable and extremely helpful. The spa and pool were beautiful . The bed in the room was completely amazing. The best thing about the hotel is privacy. We never heard other guests when in our room. The pool was active but not crowded. The restaurant was delicious. Overall, the staff could not be more accomodating, the rooms were great and it was the total relaxing/romantic weekend i was searching for. I cant wait to return.
