Hello Mike,

It was great to have you visit Biosphere 2. We continue to expand the research programs, first repurposing the agricultural area in to the worlds largest Earth Science Experiment, The Landscape Evolution Observatory (LEO), here want to understand as it rains in the mountains how much of that water ends up down stream for societally use and how is the quality of the water impacted by the changing landscape. We have just hire two new faculty to focus on our Tropical Rainforest and ocean systems. Again thank you for visiting and we hope to see you again in the near future.

Regards,

John Adams

While visiting Tucson we decided to tour the Biosphere and I am so glad we did. The experience really reminded of us of how important our world is. Our tour guide Anita was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. We would highly recommend a visit to the Biosphere 2.

I'm visiting my Uncle and he had gone many times and loves it. This was my first time and I loved it. The short video at the beginning was nice. The earphones they give you to easily hear the guide was new to my uncle and we really liked them too.
With all the steps and 1.5 mile distance of the tour it is not for anyway having walking issues. It all was so interesting. The lungs of the building was amazing. The whole set up was. Ask why the 8 people did not get along at the end. That was an interesting story as well. We also saw a bus load of young children doing some fun arts and projects. I highly recommend going.

Well, I’m shocked to be writing this review. Outside of the guide telling us aliens love planet earth it was a great tour. We had a group. It’s not a theme park but it is pretty interesting. I’ll probably take my son there the next time we are in the area.

This research facility provided us with an excellent guided tour! The development of this site was a monumental endeavour but the results are spectular. I don’t want to spoil all the features for future visitors but suffice it to say ‘you will not be disappointed’.

Whether you are an aspiring ecologist and/or concerned about climate change or not, this site is inspiring for anyone that has an interest in science. The organized tour takes about an hour. If you have problems walking, it is handicapped accessible but it is still strenuous for someone with challenges being on their feet and walking for an hour. The engineering that went into this location is amazing and the lungs to prevent too much pressure inside the structure is also simply amazing. A great location for school kids but other generations as well.

A well trained tour guide will lead you through the 7 ecosystems within the sealed Biospheres. Everyone on the tour is given a headset so you can easily hear the guide. Be sure to use the bathroom prior to starting the tour because once it commences, there are no opportunities to go until the tour is over.

One of the “Wonders of the World .“ This is a stellar Science facility that housed scientists for 2 years and 20 minutes in a sealed environment. The 60-75 minutes standard tour is outstanding. Wear comfortable shoes & clothes to climbing, bending, standing, and walking. We added the 20 minutes Ocean/Beach tour and we’re pleased we did so as we learned more about coral, algae, sea urchins and the impact of plastics.

At the visitor center there is an area where you can watch a film regarding the Biosphere if you are unable to tolerate the hour long presentation that includes climbing up and down many stairs as well as walking through a small confinded area. The center has a gift shop included. There is a cafe on the property as well. We did not visit the cafe.
Our guide was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, great at controling the audience, joked with the children, and handled stressful situations well. We learned a great deal from him about how the Biosphere was set up and it is now owned by the University of Arizona, I believe that is what he said. We came away from the experience hoping that we can keep the earth from destruction from the CO2, changes of acidity in the oean, the dyiing reefs, and more. The tour through the Biosphere was a great learning experience.

Very interesting and educational. Tour guide is essential. Cost is reasonable. Locational is a little out of the way, but worth the drive.
