Bikes were modern and well maintained with adequate tool kit puncture repair kit and spare tubes. Panniers worked well on the bikes with plenty of space. You don't need much. Information provided was clear concise and very useful and accurate. Would highly recommend a cycle trip around Savai'i for anyone with a moderate level of fitness and basic biking skills

I recently participated in a guided kayak tour of Samoa. What a wonderful way to experience such a beautiful country and culture. Each day we paddled for approximately 3-5 hours, mostly in the protected waters inside the reef. We saw lots of turtles and other sea life with ample opportunity to snorkle and swim. On occassion, we ventured outside the reef which enabled us travel further distances while challenging our paddling skills. At all times, I felt safe and comfortable in the presence of our tour guide Ross and his support crew. The accommodation was basic but comfortable - a mattress plonked in a fale (a local hut typically without walls and windows) and the all-important mossie net. While our holiday was centred around kayaking, we had plenty of time and energy for other sight-seeing.
I would definitely recommend a guided kayak tour - Ross' local knowledge ensured we could tweak the itinerary if needed (e.g. weather conditions or injury). I would love to return to include a cycling Samoa experience.

The Samoan Islands are a sea kayaker's delight - warm sparkling azure waters, white sandy beaches, natural wonders, exquisite scenery and wildlife, and a great cultural immersion experience, all fringed by pristine coral reefs, not to mention the great weather. For seven days we paddled in comfortable and well equipped sea kayaks around the main Islands of Samoa. We were in good hands with our tour leader and hosts, Ross and Frances, who are very experienced sea kayakers and knew how to cater for the range of skills, interest and fitness levels in our group of seven. We followed an itinerary largely dictated by the winds and the tides and our preferences. During the trip we stopped at uninhabited beaches and historical sites to enjoy picnic lunches, taste local natural foods like coconuts and snorkel in the clear warm water. We Snorkelled and paddled the coral reefs and experienced a visual feast of giant clams, hermit crabs, sea turtles, whales, dolphins and a myriad of coloured and exotic fish and other sea, bird and animal life. We kayaked between 14 - 23 kms most days, leaving plenty of opportunity for swimming, visiting villages or just relaxing in a timeless tropical ambience. We slept each night in fales (i.e., small huts) located right on the pristine beaches or near a village where the friendly local people were always happy to share their culture, traditions and history and even provide you with refreshments. The seven of us had a wonderful time -this holiday was definitely our most memorable holiday and I cannot speak highly enough of our tour guides Ross, Frances and their wonderful backup person Trish.

My wife and I were in a party of 7 kayakers who were seeking to experience the Samoan environment and culture in a kayaking adventure around the islands. Ross assisted by suggesting a varied and full itinerary beforehand and helpful advice. Without exception everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Each of us came away with great memories both of the incredible beauty of the islands and the warm reception we received from the Samoan people. Ross and Frances ensured the kayakers were suitably challenged with new experiences on the water but also a wide variety of off the water experiences as well. This included a church service, visit to Apia to watch a cultural festival, an umu, a fiafia, the To Sua trench and many opportunities for snorkelling. Sleeping in beach fales was a highlight, especially at Namua resort.

A fabulous holiday cycling around the beautiful Savaii thanks to Outdoor.co.nz. We were travelling with kids, the youngest had just turned 9, but with the support vehicle, everyone was able to cycle distances that were manageable for them. Along the way we saw some interesting sights and cruising along with pedal power meant we got to really experience local life. We stayed in a range of accommodation from fales to 2 nights at the Savaii Lagoon Resort towards the end. All of it was great and it was nice to mix up the basic with a bit more luxury. I'd highly recommend the trip. We saw the whole island and felt like we deserved our cocktails at the end of our cycle days.
