My first stay at insel with a group of my closest friends checking in was easy and the welcome was awesome. Staff were fabulous always helping and smiling and would go out of their way for you. Buffet breakfast can't complain was filling and a good selection. Rooms were awesome just shower is abit small but all in all it was really good staying at Insel would stay with them again definitely.

My second stay at this hotel in Samoa, and enjoyed it more this time around. It is older the most hotels around but solid. Was here during the Cyclone Evan in December and the staff were very well equipped to deal with the situation. They were amazing in staying back on site and looking after the staff, updating us regularly about the airport flights and cyclone status and kept us well fed. Hotel also had its own generator for electricity which helped during power outage.

Location wise it is well situated and not too far from town. Great if you have work to do at the hospital as its only a short walk to it. Restaurant food is generally nice and the local beer is always served chilled (vailima), breakfast does get boring but plenty and was included with my room rate. Has a small swimming pool and a tennis court. All in all good staff service, and reasonably priced. With definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor are good value.

We recently visited Samoa and we had to stay with Insel for the first few days as Le Manumea was fully booked. The hotel itself is a large concrete building, I would say this is how they build hotels in the 70s just room after room without much culture and character. The staff were very helpful excellent service, hope they are getting more than 2.5tala a hour (min wage). The beds were old and you could feel the springs. They did not provide dishwashing liquid which I thought was very odd as they had a kitchen and dishes, however you can buy this from a local shop...If you are staying here and arriving in the middle of the night with little kids whom need bottles washed I would not recommend you stay here, or bring your own liquid. They say in their room guides that the cleaning staff are personally responsible if any of the room items go missing (dishers, towels, not your own stuff) which I thought is appalling, what if a guest accidentaly took something home, the staff have to pay for lost items even tho they earn little money. Breakfast was excellent, and the pool was heaps of fun, the air conditioning worked really well. The hotel needs some maintenance. Overall you are close to town, If you are on a budget and this is all you can afford then this is what you will get for your money so cant really complain.

This is a great hotel, it's the second time we have stayed and we will definitely be staying again! The rooms are large and air con is brilliant! We stayed for 3 weeks last stay and we made ourselves at home, felt just like our home with the bonuses of an amazing breakfast every day and we didn't have to clean our own room! The staff are amazing, a special thanks to Christine and all the other office girls, the restaurant staff especially those who helped us with our baby at meal times and also the laundry and cleaning staff for making our stay a warm, welcome and memorable. Can't wait to see you all another day! I am hoping Cyclone Evan didn't do too much damage and I hope that you and all your families all remained safe.
