First time to Upolu. We had booked a 1/2 day tour but decided to change to a full day..boy were we glad we did! Kori and Fusi picked us up at our hotel for a full day of fun. They were so knowledgeable of Samoan culture and plants, villages, beaches...just about everything! These 2 are very funny too! We had so much fun we felt like we became friends. Well worth the cost. Highly recommend!

Lake Lanotoo is tricky to find alone, so it was great to get up there with your guide, Kori. He was knowledgeable and entertaining, explaining lots about the plants and wildlife along the way. The track was pretty muddy in places but it was all good fun. A dip in the lake as the mist was rising over the forest and sun came out from behind the clouds was just magic.

We were on a cruise and had pre-booked our tour (online through a very easy process). I had also emailed a couple of questions, to which I got a quick response.
There were 4 of us on this tour, and we were picked up from the wharf at the time specified. Fusi was our guide/driver, and we had an absolutely wonderful day with him. We enjoyed his sense of humour, and he was full of knowledge on Samoan culture and history.
We travelled in a comfortable air conditioned mini van around the island, stopping at many beautiful spots.
We then travelled in a boat to a private island, which was absolutely beautiful, and so peaceful. We had a cooked lunch of fish and vegetables, and swam in the crystal blue water.
We were returned to the ship on time, and this tour will go down as one of the highlights of our cruise. Thank you Fusi for this amazing experience of Samoa! Karen C

The 2 weeks I spent in Samoa were some of the most life-changing times of my life. This was as far from a tourist experience as you can get, but I enjoyed it more than I would have if it had been like that. Visiting and living in Amaille and Aopo villaged was incredible, an eye-opening culture shock. As part of the HIBS Service trip we managed to get a lot of work done in these two villages; installing water tanks, building a playground from scratch and refurbishing a library, not to mention donation of sports and music gear.
This trip wouldn't have been possible without our two guides Fiona and Tupu. Fiona spent so much time helping organise events with our teachers, and she was incredibly friendly and helpful.
I would consider Tupu a member of our team. He was with the team the whole time; cracking jokes, showing us around, and generally keeping us all happy. He was a machine when it came to physical labour, helping out non-stop until the job was done. When it came to communcating with the people of the village, both Tupu and Fiona were there to translate for us.
There is no way to thank these two friendly, funny, down-to-earth people enough for what they did for our team. I will miss them both, and I hope to return to Samoa and visit again soon!
Thank you Tupu, Fiona and Polynesian Xplorer!

What an amazing 2 weeks spent in Samoa ! I was part of a school group (Hutt International Boys' School). We were in Samoa with an aim to complete serveral service projects in villages such as Amaille in Upolo and Aopo in Savai'i. Throughout the 2 weeks we had 2 tour guides from Polynesian Xplorer. Our guides, Tupu and Fiona, were absolutely astounding. Fiona who was with us at the start and end of our trip was superb. Fiona worked around the clock everyday helping us find the bits and pieces we needed in order to complete our water-tank project in Amaille. She was always extremely friendly, there's no question about Samoa she can't answer and without her our trip would never have been possible.

Tupu was also extraordinary, his enthusiasm and the energy he brought to our trip was just marvelous. Working and spending time with Tupu was just amazing. He has such a big heart for other people, he worked selflessly each and every day helping our team complete the playground and library refurbishing in Aopo Primary School. It was easy to say hello but so hard to say goodbye to Tupu, he was just like another member of our team.

Both Fiona and Tupu made this trip an unforgettable experience and the team will surely remember them for years to come ! Fa'afetai/Thank you to Tupu, Fiona and Polynesian Xplorer for the absolutely amazing experience of Samoa !
