“Best Bathrooms in Upolo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

I am not a budget traveller so was struggling to find a hotel that would be up to my 'standards' in Upolo. I held my breath not sure what to expect but I can honestly say it was a lovely hotel.
Your not going to get what we expect of a five star resort in Samoa but this was the pick of the bunch.
Our rooms were very large and clean, serviced every day. The outdoor bathroom is perfect (We moved onto Le Lagato, best resort in Savaii, after this hotel and their bathrooms weren't a patch on this one)
The air conditioner works extremely well and there is a ceiling fan. Even if you were travelling with four, I think these rooms would be adequately sized.
Now location, this is up the cross island road. Not near the 'town' of Apai. About 10 min drive. We had a car so no problem but Apia itself isnt that much of an attraction so didnt bother me being away from it. A taxi ride costs about $5 aussie, each way. If you need a car use funaway rentals, they were by far the most cost effective.
Supermarkets and what we would call a seven eleven all offer the same goods and are all priced about the same. So there are plenty of little seven eleven style shops on cross island road that wont cost anymore than shopping at a supermarket.
One thing I did find difficult in Apia was the lack of internet. This hotel has a lavaspot but its so expensive. You can buy a package online before you leave which makes it much more affordable. Or you can go into Digicel in Apia and get four hours for about $3 aussie, you just need to sit in the zone to use it but theres two cafes right next door, so problem solved.
This hotel also has a pool and an excellent value cultural night on Thursday night, which is well worth the money.

Room Tip: All the rooms come in pairs of two. So we travelled with our kids and had rooms next to each other...

Talofa Lava,

Thank you for your feedback. Glad that you enjoyed our facilities. Out door shower is definitely one of our "best-sellers". Apologies for the inconvenience regarding our wifi hotspot. Reception tends to fluctuate, however we have worked on our connections and we are definitely more liable.
Hope to host you and your family once again on our beautiful shores we call "home".

I visited Samoa in April 2012- this was a perfect place to enjoy the Samoan hospitality and ideal location to explore from. Luna was really welcoming and it feels very homely - the rooms are clean and spacious and have everything you would need. I particularly liked the outdoor type of shower arrangement :-) the pool was perfect for a quick dip and the cocktails are very yummy. I would recommend this hotel and especially the service we received. thank you very much for such a memorable stay.

I really appreciated the service the staff made towards helping me out with bookings with FiaFia night (Thursday night) since we planned going with a big group however it was booked out. The room was great.. outdoor bathrooms big & clean, big beds, aircon and outdoor patio hidden by a beautiful gardens which gave it a little privacy. Room service was good and the ladies were always smiling and friendly. I would def recommend staying here and watching the FiaFia night. I was a little disappointed with the pool not been able to swim in due to chlorine clean (maybe it's best overnight not afternoon).

This is a pretty good value hotel compared to the value elsewhere in Samoa. It has big clean rooms, air con, a pool, and a great outdoor bathroom area in each room.

Luna the host is always willing to help and the staff are all very friendly. It is fairly quiet at dinner time but depending what you are after, this could be a good or bad thing!

Recommend renting a car though its still only a 10 minute taxi ride to Apia. Also very close to Robert Louis Stevenson Museum.

Make sure you ask Luna to direct you to the Kokobanana restaurant which is just round the corner but easy to miss! It's great.

Excellent stay in Samoa. One of the most entertaining fia fia nights I have been to. Excellent positioning.... Close enough to town but far away enough to be peaceful. The design of the rooms were excellent, especially the outdoor shower... Highly recommend it.

Good place to base yourself to explore the Island. Great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The resort has a nice pool - but is not near the beach, so as long as you know this heading in to stay (as we did) you wont be disappointed. The outdoor showers are very funky!! Kids loved the pool.

I felt it was OK. Not as good as I hoped for, from the reviews though. The staff were all helpful enough. There was trouble with the water and I had cold showers for 2 days. The grounds and pool are well kept. 7-8 tala for a taxi to town which is good.
