“Charming resort with super friendly staff but needs a bit of a refresh”

We spent one night in the honeymoon suite at this resort. We were welcomed by very friendly people who made the stay enjoyable. The rooms were a bit dissapointing according to the price you pay: no water bottles, looks unfresh and unmaintained... The food and cocktails were good and the lagoon is beatifull from morning to evenings.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lucia's Lagoon! There are a variety of accommodations depending on what you are looking for. Very basic fales to hotel rooms. The 'hotel rooms' are quite nice and very comfortable. If you like comfort- stay in one of these. We loved our stay in the Over The Water Bungalows. There was a latter going into the lagoon and lots of fish. We had lots of fun swimming in the lagoon and kayaking around. The staff were awesome-especially Tui !
Food is pretty good and well priced. Plus breakfast is free! We had to catch the ferry and they gave us our breakfast to go!
We would stay here again for sure!
Thanks Lucia and Staff!

We spent one night here and it was the best accommodation of our entire trip! The restaurant there had terrific food including some traditional dishes that we couldn't find at other restaurants. We had two rooms booked, both were lovely. Our traditional style fale--complete with mosquito net--had a beautiful ocean view and a comfortable bed. The room my parents stayed in--more modern including a bathroom en suite--was large, clean, and comfortable. The staff were all so friendly and helpful! It was a cheap taxi ride from the ferry (only 5 tala I think) and once we got there we felt like we'd walked into paradise!
I recommend taking advantage of using their kayak or snorkel gear. We explored the whole lagoon on the kayak, and one of the staff was happy to get it in and out of the water for us.

If I get to go back to Samoa, I won't even look for different accommodations on Savai'i, I'll just head back to Luisa's!

Room Tip: The ocean views are beautiful, but if you aren't used to hearing waves crash while you are sleep...

This is a great little gem not far from the wharf at Salelogo. It's close to the markets and on a private lagoon which is crystal clear and full of fish. There's not a lot to do here, but that is part of Lusia's charm, you can't help but wind down and relax.
The swimming is beautiful.
Service and food was all wonderful. There's plenty of traditional Samoan food to taste and it is all cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly and helpful

Room Tip: The private lagoon rooms with your own private ladder to the lagoon is well worth the extra money. V...

I stayed at Lusia's with a friend for two nights in one of the basic fales over the water. The lagoon is gorgeous, aquamarine water with great snorkelling and while the room was very basic (two beds with mosquito nets and some shelving) it was all we needed.

There is a good-sized deck over the water where we sat and lazed away the hours with staff regularly popping down to check if we needed any more drinks/food/sometimes just to have a chat.

The staff there were excellent, always willing to help and they had learned our names within the hour of us arriving and addressed us by our names our whole stay. Nice touch!

We loved it so much that we returned there for our last two nights on Savii and as the lagoon fales were booked out we stayed in a lodge room instead. The room had an ensuite and was clean, tidy with air con (heaven!) and hanging space for our freshly laundered clothes.

After 3 weeks spent on both Upolu and Savii, Lusia's was my favourite hotel/fale that we stayed in. You won't regret a stay there!

Best place to stay if you have just come from Upolo or just about to leave Savaii. Its the perfect stop over literally 5mins walk from the Ferry or 1 min Taxi.

The team at Lusia's are amazingly friendly. Jim the Manager is a kind, gentle and courteous host. The bar staff are well versed in the art of cocktails and the rest of the team especially Tui are an amazing troupe of locals who will look after you.

The Market place is easily a 5min walk away as well + supermarket (nothing as big as this available on Savaii elsewhere.

Make sure you visit the whole team at Lusia's and enjoy the beautiful food - easily the best i encountered on the island. Yes, it might be 5-10 Tala more than else where but the quality is exquisite!

Thanks for everything guys! Hope to be back in the future.
@Tui if your ever in Wellington the beers are on me!

Room Tip: Pick a Lagoon Chalet - then you can wake up and jump right into the water from your balcony every mo...

Pros - Peaceful, helpful, variety of accommodation types, booking easy and organised, the lagoon is lovely and quiet (great for fitness swimming!), staff excellent for the most part, food was good in the restaurant (for Samoan standards),
Cons - Slightly overpriced rooms, far from the island of Upollo, the Honeymoon suite not up to standard, no beach front, quite a distance to other resorts and the diving, the sheets and towels need updating (some where a little dirty and worn).

We found this hotel extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. It's located on the island of Savai'i, which is quieter with definitely less touristy. We had to catch the cargo ferry over but we got to the resort early (7am) and they were more than happy to accommodate us early, give us breakfast and make us comfortable. Breakfast is nice and included (usually a free fruit plate, rice congee, eggs, toast or pancakes) and the restaurant is quite good and very reasonable prices.
When we went to pay the bill it was easy even though we had spent 5 days putting everything onto an account of three rooms. Very organised and we enjoyed our stay with them.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 'newer' rooms off the water but more modern.
