We only stayed 2 nights, which wasn't long enough. Wayne and Sarah (the new managers) did a fantastic job and they made us feel most welcome and very relaxed considering we had 3 young boys. We never had to worry about the boys too much in that gorgeous lagoon...so safe, and the snorkelling is amazing. It was great having free use of the resorts kayaks, and loved the loungers on the beach under the umbrella! And the food.....Divine! Just the right amount of selection, something to suit everyone. The bungalow we stayed in was very roomy and loved the fact that it was self-contained. Thank you, you will definately see us there again.

I stayed here with my mother and two sisters. Words cannot do justice to this place, on arrival we felt like we were reuniting with long lost relatives as our hosts took hospitality to a new level. We stayed during the low season which was perfect as we felt like the only people in the world. Our rooms were generous and the meals were always delicious. We also took the opportunity to utilise Tony's photography skills in a family photo shoot & our photos were amazing and will always give us a treasured memory of our trip to savaii. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I hope that even without Tony & Melissa to drive the ship the lagoon resort will conitinue to be a place where travellers can relax, enjoy and have the Samoan holiday of your dreams.

Room Tip: We stayed in Rms 1 & 5. #1 was furthest away from other rooms and perfect for couples wanting a...

Tony and Melissa. Take a bow.... we applaud you. The warm welcome, friendly smile and the effectionate passion you have for the place is contagious, it made all the difference to our stay. 3 days was to short of a trip. to arrive and have the place to ourselves for a day was a dream made in heaven. The Staff were fab. To the main man behind the bar keeping our drinks filled and cold. fa'afetai lava June. Tony, the man of many trades, the food was delicious and your knowledge of Savaii was informative. Melissa thankyou for your hospitality. The villas are clean and i love the shower. yes it did get hot inside with no air-con. but a quick dip in the water. problem solved. the most relaxed holiday we have had compared to other places we have travelled. swimming, snorkeling, sleeping, eating and drinking = savaii lagoon resort.
we plan to come back and bring friends. Fa'afetai, fa'afetai,fa'atetai Tony & Melissa. all the best for 2013. Gary & Liz Worrell

Stayed here for 3 nights (wasnt long enough) and loved it! our room was on the beach and the outdoor shower was a plus! large spacious rooms with kitchen. Tony and Melissa are wonderful hosts who will do anything to make your stay comfortable! Gorgeous lagoon with bar and resturant on the beach. The only negative comment is that breakfast was only toast and fruit, wouldve been nice to have had the option of eggs, bacon etc. but in saying that we would stay there again with out a doubt! All the staff were also very friendly and remembered our names!

Savaii Lagoon resort team enjoys reading complimentary things about how we treat our guests. Remembering a guest's name is most important as each one is a VIP. It is nice to hear that you enjoy our "beautiful place" and we thank you for taking the time to review our resort..

Firstly I have to say we didn't actually stay at this resort, we were next door but came to think of the SLR as our second home. Tony and Melissa are fantastic and truly make this resort what it is. The whole place has a real laid back feel about it, it's very quiet, friendly and clean with a beautiful beach. There is a lovely bar and restaurant overlooking the beach that serves the best NZ chips, in the evening they offer 2 choices of entree and main meal you have to place your order by 3pm as all the food is bought fresh that day and is so good and excellent value, we ended up eating here most evenings.

We spent an amazing 4 days relaxing at SLR in early Nov. The staff were very friendly, knowledgable about local attractions, the food was delicious (even our fussy 8 yr old managed) and the setting was magic. The plantation tour and glass bottom boat trip was a great way to spend a birthday. Nothing was ever too much bother for Tony, Melissa and the staff - you just have to ask and they work to accommodate your request. The room was functional and roomy, we loved the outdoor shower!

Room Tip: Bigger rooms have plenty of room for a single bed for children

Family spent a week here in two garden fales. Great location with a great beach and excellent snorkelling right off the beach. The accommodation is spacious and well appointed with everything you need to eat in if you prefer. The restaurant and bar were a popular spot for us with sunset cocktails on the deck and evening ritual. Food was excellent and Jun was always going the extra mile to make sure everyone was looked after. His village tour was very educational and well worth while. I was keen on the snorkelling available and there was plenty for the novice close in and further out the more experienced snorkellor is rewarded with turtles, coral gardens and a ship wreck. The ship wreck is usally viewed by a boat excursion but is not too far out to do it under your own steam. Was lucky enough to have encountered turtles on 6 occaissions over 5 days. The location on a beautiful beach in a fantastic lagoon is the big point of difference. Melissa and Tony are great hosts and go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience (good luck to them for their new venture). Only suggestion would be to put aircon in the fales as it can get uncomfortably hot.
