My family and I ( which included two teenagers) have just returned from another trip to Samoa and this time decided to visit Savaii. We stayed at Tanu Beach Fales where we were met by Frieda on arrival. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we loved every moment of our stay, in fact we are planning next year's trip and plan to stay at Tanu longer. The meals were lovely and filling (breakfast and dinner is provided as part of the cost), inside the open fale is a mattress, sheet and mosquito net, the communal toilets and showers were always clean, and the open dining room was a good time to meet other people staying there as well as Tanu family members. For those that know me well, I do not camp or do communal living but this was an awesome experience.
As for the beach, what can I say, our fale was right on the white sandy beach, the sunrises and sunsets were really beautiful, the water was crystal clear, we were so glad we had our snorkelling gear with us. I would recommend Tanu Beach Fales as an alternative to a hotel stay. Thank you Tanu family for your hospitalityMore
