“Gorgeous place - gorgeous people”

What a charming spot! I was crazy about the dining area and the lovely views over the beach....very romantic and gorgeous.

Ceti our tour guide who worked at the hotel was a delight. He filled us in on all the legends and stories of Savai'i. What an amazing island!! My advice would be to head to this island as soon as you can as it's very untouched and the water colour is stunning.

The food was good and the fales very comfortable. A small and elegent boutique hotel.

Le Lagoto resort was the best place we stayed in Samoa by far. We stayed in Apia at the Insel and Aggie's resort and it far exceeded both these hotels. The food was fantastic, the fale we stayed in was beautiful and the location was spectacular.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were there for the Fia Fia night which had a big feast and dancing which was wonderful. The taro leaves in coconut cream was my favourite dish. Being vegetarian the restaurant had great options and was housed in an amazing fale right on the beach.

Sekia pizza a few doors down run by Andy and his lovely wife was also great. They made great pizzas and were absoultely lovely people. They also delivered to our room! Wow!

Overall, an amazing place right on the water with a coral reef, beautiful accomodation in the beachfront fale and a great var and restaurant. Also very convenient location in Fagamalo Village with a convience store and dive shop where we hired snorkels, across the road and Sekia pizza a few doors down.

Can't wait to go bak to paradise!

This is the best place to stay in Samoa bar none.
We moved here from aggie greys after we were totally disappointed with many aspects of Aggies.

Its worth visiting Samoa just to go on the one day tour that Le Lagoto puts on with Ceti.
I have been on a lot of tours around the world put on by hotels, but this one stands out as the best ever. Ceti took us to many more places than was listed on the itineray telling many local legends on the way with so much pride and passion.

He constantly pulled the tour van over to stop at roadside stalls where he bought us all fresh fruit and produce to sample as well as meeting some of the locals.

The beach at Le Lagoto as world class, the swimming and snorkling is unmatched in samoa and many parts of the world. From the hotel loungers, we saw turtles, large fish, small sharks and dolphins.

I would go back to samoa just to stay here again.

We stayed in Jim's Palms... a seperate house next to the modern bungalow complex that is Le Lagoto.
If you like privacy and a retro quality to your surroundings this is the place to stay. 2 huge bedrooms with ensuites. A kitchen and livingroom, a private patio and garden and private access to the water.
The perfect place to stay if you like P&Q , reading, snoozing and general mooching about.
We had our breakfast and dinners at the hotel main restaurant. The food was good....nothing super exciting though. I would reccomend the raw fish dish and the creamed taro leaves. People running this resort very friendly. A good, comfortable spot from which to drive round exploring the island.

The nicest spot in Samoa. We travelled all around both islands by rental car and Lagoto certainly had the best snorkeling and sunsets. The water was clear and very warm with lots of fish to see.
The rooms were older but comfortable. Be careful what you leave out as we had swimming togs and sunglasses stolen - the management didn't seem to be that interested. These things can be a real inconvenience as it is hard to replace most things due to the unavailability in any part of Samoa...so I suggest that you take a spare of some things.
The restaurant was great value and the breakfasts were delicious with lots of fresh fruits.
Walk along the road to the pizza stall which is run by an Austrian and his Samoan wife - fantastic pizzas and coffee out of a tiny fale.
Also walk along the road about 50metres to a small restaurant (no signs and you need to walk down a gravel driveway to find it) but boy its worth it. Run by a German couple that cook to order...good wine selection too. Best meal that we had while in Samoa, also make great coffee and cake.
Make sure that you take the 3hour dive/snorkel trip that is run from across the road. Run by a Frenchman who makes the trip both interesting and entertaining - great value. He uses local boys which is nice to see.

We would definately stay at Lagoto again for the relaxing environment and good food.

We have visited Samoa a couple of times in the past but this was the first visit to Savai 'i. La Lagoto is a beautiful resort - the beach and the snorkelling are wonderful - crystal clear water and loads of fish to see; the staff are wonderful - Ceti is just lovely, a true host who ensures all his guests are looked after. His day tour of the island is well worth doing, not only do you get to see the island, you also get to hear the stories and myths as well as learn more about the culture, flora etc.

We stayed in the bungalow - 'Jim's place' which has a stunning location - private garden looking out to sea.....however, for the price it is somewhat tired. We discovered that it is not owned by the resort, they just rent it out on behalf of the owner. A lick of paint and a few repairs to bathroom and kitchen fittings would make a huge difference! Also, be aware that the road is just in front of the house so there is a fair amount of traffic noise in the morning (and at night due to dogs barking!) Oh, and be careful when accessing the sea from the private boatramp - it is VERY slippery!

That said, Savai'i is wonderful, the people delightful and we had a wonderful relaxing week - just what we wanted!
