Myself and 2 friends stayed at the Lauiula beach fales for 4 nights and had a great time. The fales are well kept and are very close to the water. The fales have lights and mossie nets and we were comfortable. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper the waves can get a little loud. Everything is clean and tidy. Richard and his lovely wife are kind and helpful, they want to make your stay as nice as they can.

The food is mainly samoan and they fill the plate to the brim. The samoams love to see you enjoying your food. We loved the atmosphere of the place but we had a great group of people staying there at the same time. They always have lovely samoan music playing in the eating area. It was a great place to sit, relax and meet someone of the other guests.

We enjoyed the swimming and snorkelling. We thought the fish were amazing, the coral is a bit broken down. It was the same in most of the snorkelling areas throughout samoa that we saw. We felt very safe in the water no serious rips or currents.

There is only cold water and toilet could be scrubed a bit more but they are my only complaints. We would love to go back for another visit. We had a great time its worth checking out.

Enjoy - Seabluepearl

We met the lovely owners of Lauiula, Richard and Ofa, by accident while looking to hire a car on Savaii. Ofa just so happens to run P.K Car Rentals by the port so while we picked up a car she told us about her property. We hadn't booked anything for the first week so decided to stay at their place in Lano for at least a night to check it out. We were not disappointed!

Besides Richard and Ofa being some of the nicest people we have ever met their accommodation is comfortable, clean and in the best location on Savaii.

Fale style accommodation right on the beach is in my opinion the best way to stay in Samoa. Waking up to the sound of the ocean lapping the beach a mere 5 metres away from where you sleep is something you just can't experience in many places.

Lauiula also serve amazing meals and to think that you can stay overnight AND get breakfast and dinner included all for 50 Tala you just can't go wrong.

We ended up staying 3 days the first time and then thought we'd travel further up the coast to Manase as we'd heard the beaches were nice there. While the fale accommodation in Manase is comparable the beaches are definitely not. They are much dirtier and shallow than those literally on your doorstep in Lano.

We only stayed in Manase one night and ended up going back to Lauiula for another 2 days and really appreciated the place even more having seen Manase. I celebrated a birthday during these two days and Richard and Ofa organised a party for me complete with traditional dancing (by their lovely daughter Pearl and partner Damien) that went well into the night. The hospitality of Richard and Ofa is amazing.

If you're going to Savaii do yourself a favour and make sure you stay at least 2 or 3 nights at Lauiula. We'll be back in Samoa for a month this year and we'll definitely be back.
