“Comfortable, safe, convenient”
Reviewed June 8, 2014 via mobile

Around the bus terminal, the plaza central and the plaza iglesia are dozens of hostels; infinitesimal rooms, no keys, single light bulb, broken window, wall paper from the Nixon administration; All have at least 3 dogs. There are streets that run between the plazas that are lined with dirt bike and quad rentals, chiva excursions, massage parlors, souvenir shops, and bars; chaos being the main activity. Away from all that in a corner of town between the Thermas La Virgen and the Santa Clara pool are four hotels of unusual poise and character. One is the Hotel Volcano, 12 rooms off the street in the middle of the block, high ceiling sunlit rooms some with lofts with extra beds, the bathrooms are small, huge wall sized windows, rooms 8,9,10 have large decks with views of the city, water fall, mountains and sun, it is quiet. Lay in bed and watch the clouds against the mountains. Listen to the waterfall. Good Wi-Fi. Basic breakfast in the restaurant/bar overlooks the pool. Go to dinner around the corner at Posada de Arte. Weekends in Baños are madness the Hotel Volcano is at a distance from that. Midweek we had the place to ourselves. Booked two rooms, stayed 8 days.

The hotel has an ideal location on a quiet street but just a few blocks from everything in town. The property is very attractive. Our spacious room had a patio with a view of the waterfall and even had a loft. Breakfasts were very good. I think it would be difficult to do any better in Banos.

This hotel would have much potential if 1) they could speak a little english 2) they could learn of how to interact with the public and be a bit more service oriented. 3) if their restaurant was open, don't count to eat there. It is though easy walk distance to other restaurants.

Me and my husband arrived in the afternoon and soon we notestthat we started to fell scratchy.
The room was not properly clean, especially in between the double mattress, after asking for it to be cleaned, the scratching and red patches on our skin continued...even after showering.
Had booked for 2 nights but only managed to get refunded for half of one night even though we are leaving 4 hours after checking in!
Terrible service and restaurant to boot!!!
Avoid!!!

We happened upon the Volcano after rejecting several others, and were so happy we did! It is well located in a quiet part of Banos near the thermal baths, and offers peace, quiet and relaxation - plus absolutely wonderful beds and GREAT pillows. The pool and jacuzzi are in a lovely garden with a nice view of the cascade. LOTS of hummingbirds to watch when you sit on the veranda. Try it, you'll like it!

Room Tip: Don't think there's a bad one.

I had never been to Baños before, but had read that it was the adventure capital of Ecuador, so we decided to honeymoon there. We decided on the Vocano Hotel based on it's reviews, and I am happy to say, that after spending eight days in Baños, we beleive the we made the right choice, and that this is THE best hotel in Baños!
Firstly, I have an allergy to black mold, and due to the miraculous lushness of Baños, it grows everywhere on everything. The first room that we had, had some black mold in the bathroom, so they immediately moved us to the room next door. Problem solved!
The Volcano hotel ls situated on the edge of the town at the bas of the mountain. The view from our room, (8), was spectacular! The patio had a view of the waterfall as well.
The staff were welcoming and warm, and when we took an overnight trip to Misuhuallì, they worried about us, because we did not tell them that we would be gone.
The pool was gorgeous, and the complimentary breakfasts were spectacular.
We feel as though we made friends here, and if we come back to Bańos, we will stay at the Volcano Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 8 is wonderful!

We stayed for a weekend, there were a problem with my reservation (my fault), but they solve it.The rooms are really good, clean, private, better than a lot of hotels in the same category on major cities in US.

Close to everything (2-3 blocks) and in a perfect location far from crowded zones of Baños.

I didn't check the internet because i had my own service. So i cant say much.

If you want a nice room, food, location, and a place you can go rest after a hard day doing all the extreme sports in Baños. This is the place for a great price.
