A husband and wife run the Napolitano. They were both simply amazing. My boyfriend and I stayed in Banos for a few days and the whole time this couple treated us like family. From recommendations on what to do (and safety precautions on some of the activities), to arranging for rental bikes to be dropped off for us, to fresh breakfast daily - literally freshly blended juice every morning and fresh fruit with yogurt and scrambled eggs - it was all of the small things that really made this stay one of the best (and I've stayed in 4 and 5 star properties in more developed countries).

The hotel itself was only a few minutes walk to the main square, and perfectly safe. It was a quick 5 minute bike ride to the avenue of waterfalls. It also was completely secure. While we always felt safe walking around in Banos, even late at night, it put us even more at ease knowing that you need a key to get onto the hotel grounds (which they give you at check in). The views from the hotel are pretty much all mountains and waterfalls...absolutely stunning! And their courtyard, which was landscaped and completed by the husband is beautiful! It was a gem and we couldn't have been happier to stay there! Simple accommodations, but spacious and clean. The husband was also building a spa. I'm sure it's going to be great once completed!

More than anything, we are forever grateful to the couple that run the hotel. They could not have been any sweeter. They also know pretty much all of the tours offered in the area. The wife even hugged us goodbye on our way out. Like I said, we were treated like family. We didn't want to take the bus back to Quito and were told we could take a cab. Although the day of our departure, the husband said he would be happy to drive us back to Quito for the same price that a taxi would have cost. WOW! What personalized service! If we ever make it back to Banos, you can be certain we wouldn't give 2nd thought to staying here before anywhere else.

We arrived late (12:00) and were greeted and checked in quickly and easily. Breakfast runs later than most (10:30) so we were able to sleep in. There was nothing at all wrong with our stay, and many ways they went above and beyond. The host gave us excellent directions and info on services, she called and arranged a rappelling excursion that was excellent and well priced. She also called taxis when we went far away- it is 15 min walk to one bano or 10 min $2 cab to another bano. Hotel is 5 min walk from city center - huge church and plaza. Just far enough to be quiet but still close enough to very easily and quickly walk. Yes there are roosters next door but there were roosters next to literally every Hostal we stayed in ecuador, that is just how people there roll. Breakfast is a very good full breakfast. views from our room were epic. Great decor with leather couches and great artisan tapestries. again this place just went above and beyond and i would 100% recommend to anyone in banos. We paid for 2 nights $120 total including tax.

This hotel is a small family owned well run with fantastic views of the mountains surrounding Banos. The hotel is very clean and you can tell immediately the love that is put into the hotel to make it a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was very good during my stay and consisted of eggs or fruit with the freshest bread baked a few doors down the street. The hot cocoa is a joy to drink as you veer out the large plate glass windows to the mountains. I always had hot water and felt safe, even when the Volcano was clearing it's throat during my stay. My bedroom had a very large convex window to give a supurb panoramic view of the town and mountains. I had an early morning bus ride and the mother got out of bed to drive me to the bus station. Very warm and caring family/owners of this hotel.

Room Tip: If you want a constant view of the Volcano, ask for a room on the back side of the hotel.

We were at the end of a two month visit of Peru and Ecuador and had 3 days to fill before flying home from Quito. We decided to drive to Baños de Agua Santa for the beautiful vistas, the thermal baths, and hiking opportunities. We booked a room at the Napolitano Hotel based on recent reviews, rates, and location. When we arrived, the proprietress showed us to a room on the top (3rd/4th in the U.S.) floor and apologized that it wasn't the type of room we had rented, but it was the only room left in the hotel. Wow! The room was an immaculate apartment suite with a kitchen, dining area, living area, fireplace, separate bedroom, a bathroom with a large round shower that included a concave picture window looking out on the beginning of the Amazon basin, and a large bedroom with a king bed and ample storage space for our luggage. Each morning we awoke to views of the Virgen de Agua Santa waterfall and the surrounding volcanic foothills; all told, the suite offered more than 270 degree views of the valley. And to top it all off with a bang, the local volcano, Tungurahua, erupted for the first time in two months early on our second morning. The boom from the eruption generated a sonic wave that, besides being possibly the loudest noise I've ever heard, shook the suite windows for several seconds afterward. So, in every way, even ways beyond the owners' control, we were overjoyed with our stay at the Napolitano Hotel.

Room Tip: The rooms at the ends of the hallways have sweeping views

I just spent a great weekend in Banos, which is a must do if you are in Ecuador. The hotel owners/managers at Napolitano were amazing. They help arrange all of our tours including whitewater rafting and ziplining and helped with translations and all our needs. The hotel is clean and comfortable and in a great location close to the center of the city, but not in the middle of all the noise.

Our family of four stayed in this hotel for two nights. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast served was very good. The owner was very friendly, gracious and extremely helpful. She even did laundry for us for a very reasonable price. Though outside of the central area of town, it is an easy, short walk to the center of the lovely town of Baños. Recommended!

I had an excellent stay at this nice, cozy hotel near the downtown of Banos-Ecuador, which is a little colonial city full of culture wildlife and outdoor activities options in the Ecuadorian Sierra.
The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the cathedral, there is lots of restaurants and the bars just 8-9 minute walk
This is a family owned and operated hotel so you are treated as a family guest more than a customer. I felt really at home while at the hotel.
Iwould definetly stay here again.

Room Tip: top floors offer better views of th mountains.
