This hotel is in a remote location of Banos/Patate. The hotel offers amazing scenery and good service. The rooms do not have central air or heat but is equipped with fireplaces which the staff will light for you after dinner. The wood provided is limited and we founds ourselves freezing midway through the evening. The grounds are amazing and enjoyable to roam. There are 2 friendly bulldogs which will follow you around the property. The food was good, although very small portions. It was enjoyable for one night....but would not recommend staying beyond one or two nights.

I stayed here on the Friendly Planet Exotic Ecuador tour. The hotel is quite a drive, but the views on the drive are spectacular. The decor is eclectic and I enjoyed spending time in the main building where you could access free Wi-Fi by the fire. Rooms are also equipped with fireplaces which was very cozy as well. The grounds are beautiful and enjoyable to roam. They also have 2 dogs which will follow you around and are allowed inside the main building. They seemed gentle and allowed people to pet them. The food was delicious and the dining room was large. The pool was drained for our visit, but there was some exercise equipment available. I also got a massage from the spa which was excellent. The hotel accepts credit cards, but encourages cash payments.

We spent one night here, and enjoyed it very much. The bizarreness comes from the decor, which is a combination of old family heirlooms(like old sewing machines and record players) and dozens of peculiar oil paintings obviously done by a family member. That aside, the staff was excellent, food good, and the view of the volcano from the lodge magnificent. our room was cozy, especially with the fireplace at night. we walked the grounds in the early morning, and found them exquisite.

We were on one of those busses mentioned in the previous review. Twenty one people from accross the US and Canada on a Friendly Planet tour. Had a great time!!

The Hacieda Leito is a long way from town on a narrow, bumpy road that makes for an interesting bus trip, but the view of the volcano is certainly worth the ride--FANTASTIC! We liked this lodge. It was clean and the fireplace kept us nice and cozy during the cool evening. The food was good and the staff friendly. About the only negative was that the pool/spa and hot tub were not working during our visit.

This hotel is outside of town and has views of the volcano, when there is not cloud in the way! It is about a 25 minute taxi ride from town along a mainly dirt road but the hotel can get a taxi for you.
The rooms are basic but fine, they have a fireplace in them and every night somebody came and lit a fire. There is no view of the volcano from any of the rooms. The views are from the main hotel area.
The hotel has an indoor pool and a there are various excecise machines around the place. I would hesitate to call it a spa but you can get a massage and there is a hot tub as well.
Most of the people staying there are on tours and at night a big bus will arrive and the place will fill up and they will all be gone in the morning.
The owner speaks good english but the staff do not although they are very helpful. The food is good and there is a bar area to drink in.
The hotel is too far from Banos to keep going backwards and forwards to. We spent the day in town and surrounding area and headed back in the evening using the same taxi driver who took us in the morning.
You cannot see the volcano from the town but get a great view from this hotel and you can sleep comfortavbly knowing that if the volcano ever erupted you are far enough away not to worry!
