“Best hostel, best value.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

We absolutely loved this hostel. We paid $8.50/night for a private room with bathroom. The beds were comfy and the view from our balcony was amazing. It was very clean- they tidied our room and cleaned the bathroom everyday. The building seemed brand new and very well taken care of. Staff were friendly and very laid back. We also loved the breakfast on the rooftop and ate there pretty much every morning. I would highly recommend this hostel.

Room Tip: Any room upstairs gives you an amazing view of the mountains.

Good basic dorm rooms with ok bunk beds (no lockers). The rooms are cleaned everyday and the beds are made, including a fresh towel. Also they have a pool and hammocks, but the best thing was their rooftop cafe which served a great breakfast. Breakfast was not included in the price, but all in all the hostel was cheap.

Stayed here for 4 nights, could have easily spent much longer.
The room we have a large with a double and single bed for $8.50 per person. The shower was hot on demand and the rooms were cleaned everyday. I didnt think much of there breakfast although the tea/coffee/ juices are good for your money. They have wifi but it didnt seem to work for us all the time in the room. No biggy there are 3 pcs u can use. There is also a small pool but we didnt use it. Laundry is only $1 per kilo and it is wash and dried within 3 hours. Overall great stay would highly recommend.

This is a great place to stay. The prices are very cheap, the rooms are clean, there are computers and wifi. You are right next to las termas and they have a pool you can use. The staff were very friendly!

Stayed here for 3 nights in February 2013. In our room there was a lamp on the bedside table. It was a light bulb in a piece of tree trunk with a cable to the wall socket and a switch on the cable. Above the lamp was a plant in a pot hanging from the ceiling. They had watered the plant with about a year's worth of water in one go and the soil in the pot couldn't absorb so much water so it flowed down into the tray under the pot and overflowed and dripped down continuously for the first two days of our stay.

I didn't notice the water at first, but I sure did when I went to turn the lamp on as there was water around the bulb, water on the switch, splashes around the socket and the main part of the lamp was sitting in water on the bedside table. I consider myself quite lucky not to have got an electric shock and I unplugged the lamp and left it over the other side of the room to dry out for a couple of days.

If it wasn't for that incident, I would have said that this is a very good place to stay as it was clean and had excellent facilities and is in a decent location. The other thing that annoyed me a bit was that we paid a higher rate per night for booking via a hostel booking website than we would have done had we just turned up without a reservation.

This place is a great value. I've been living/traveling in Ecuador for 7 months now and this is one of the best values. You get a private room with bath, large and clean room, a balcony and wi-fi for less then $20/room. My gf and I stayed in a private room w/bath for only $8.50/person. We had a large (and clean) room with a balcony (with a view of the waterfall). The rooftop restaurant was busy in the morning but we didn't eat there as we wanted to check out other places in town. The swimming was small and we didn't use it.

We did do the steam health bath, which is an hour experience of sitting in the steam box (with your head sticking out) and then cooling yourself off with cold water, repeat. It was quite refreshing and relaxing and you have an attendant helping you for an hour, and it only cost $4/person.

The wi-fi worked okay in our room but I did have to reset it once. The lobby isn't much and the main reception area is kind of mixed in with the lobby.

Room Tip: we were on the 3rd floor (room 23) and even though it had a balcony with a view of the waterfall, we...

For the price and the location, this place is perfect. It's clean, nicely decorated (for the you're-in-a-hostel-in-Ecuador feel), and is ideally located. It is less than three minutes from the Piscinas de la Virgen. In fact, you can see and hear the Virgen waterfall from about half of the hostel's rooms. The Terrace Cafe is beautiful too! I would stay here again (and I will for my next visit!)
