Pancho Villa is only a few minutes walk from downtown Banos. It is a very quiet and beautiful place. There is great food for vegetarians and meat eaters. The service is fast they are happy to serve everyone. You have to try the margarias, they are somewhat expensive but worth it.

This is not Mexican food. The salsa is more like a puree with lots of onions, and the burritos were not good. We were both disappointed with our meal.

As a lover of Mexican food, I was really looking forward to the feed at Pancho Villas....The place has a great atmosphere, although it's hard to tell from the outside as the building (actually an old house) is well above street level.

Unfortunately, the food was rather bland and the portions quite small. Ecuadorians in general do not like spicy food, so perhaps the owners have tamed down the spice for the local palate....Portion sizes, however, in Ecuador tend to be quite large, so the small portions really surprised me.

So...if you like Mexican food, but not spice, Pancho Villia's might be the right place for you....If you want some zing in your burritos, you might want to keep looking.

The sangria, however, was delicious and I had no complaints with the service.

Situated off the street, up some stairs and in the back, Pancho Villa was a welcome stop after walking the streets of Banos. The service was friendly and the fact that my son speaks Spanish made the ordering that much more enjoyable. The portions were just right but not by most American standards ( which is just as well as they tend to be way overboard). The food was refreshing and the decorations were interesting, humorous and historical with pictures of Spanish movie stars, Che Guevara and Castro, and various others. Highly recommended.
