First of all, this place is not authorised to run as a hotel/appart hotel. The place was desert 24/7. Self called manager never appeared on the place, and his employee was everything but a dissaster. He refused to change towels as he argumented and i quote "as this place is runned as a bed and breakfast, we change towels every two days". I've travelled more than 23 countries and i never heard such an absurd answer". We also have to ask more than once to be contacted with tour agency, to get elements for breakfast. Employee tried to overcharge me on the booking saying prices are in us dollars, when i previously arranged price in local money with the "manager". Place is published to be "2 blocks from city center", and it's 10 blocks uphill from city center, so going in and out of the center means at least one taxi (specially going uphill). We were contacted to get a car transfer from airport, they charged us 60 when price is 40. I DO NOT recommend this unofficial place, please stay somewhere else, I will spread the word in every single blog, website and official customer service in Ushuaia to get this place closed as soon as possible.

Eduardo, the owner met us at Beauvoir and took us to the apartment on Don Bosco. We stayed at two different suites in the apartment and you could tell they were both created and styled with love and care. Eduardo did anything he could to make sure we had everything we needed. There was a minor glitch on our second night and he felt so bad but you could sense that he wanted to do all he could to fix things. I would recommend this place, it was safe, was a good price and it was close to St. Martin Street, which is the main shopping street in Ushuaia.

This is probably the best Place to stay when visiting Argentina. We stayed there 5 Nights during our trip through Argentina. The owner, Eduardo, is an extremely nice guy who really cares for his guests. We had the double room which is located in his own house and he did everything to ensure that we have a great stay there. Every morning he prepared a rich breakfast which was way better than in any other place we stayed in Argentina. He also helped us to organize trips to see the penguins and so on. He also drove us around for free and gave us good advices what to see and do in Ushuaia.
The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Wifi is also available. His house itself is located not far away from Ushuaias centre, approx. 10-15min to walk.
We had a great stay there and when coming back to Ushuaia we will certainly stay in this place again.

We booked 3 nights and were upgraded to the self contained apartment right in the centre of town for no extra cost. It was fantastic, we had our own space and were able to cook meals! after considering the price of other accommodation, this place was one of the few in our price range, and the service certainly exceeded our expectations. Eduardo picked us up and took us to the apartment on the night that we arrived, at no cost. On the last day he stored our bags for us while we explored the town further. We walked back to his home to collect our bags, which is where his other accommodation is located, and it is only a 10-15min walk from the main street (not 40 as stated in other reviews). Eduardo was very helpful, the place was clean and comfortable with hot showers and working wi-fi. Would certainly recommend! K&L Brisbane Australia

We had booked a normal double room but got upgraded (for free!) to the two room apartment that the owner has in the centre of Ushuaia. This apartment had a great location, about 100m from the main street.

Good:
- The owner, Eduardo, is really friendly and helpful.
- Location
- Heating: all the rooms where warm all day and night.
- Comfy beds
- Very hot showers
- Lots of space (there are beds for 5 people, but as we where just 2..)
- Kitchen where we could cook all our food
- Everything looked and smelled clean
- Lots of different types of tea, and some butter and jam for breakfast (we just bought some bread)

Bad:
-Wifi was a bit irregular and sometimes didnt work very well.
- Cooking items like pans etc were a bit ancient and dusty... Could do with some new pots and pans and spoons. But, we managed to make all our meals there so not a big problem.

Overall, a great place that offers great value!

Given the high prices around main street it is definitely worth to walk those 10 minutes not only to get the good value for money their rooms offer (and what spacious apartments, fully equipped, they are!) but also for the hosts Eduardo and family. Would definitely return.

Eduardo is a great host, so is his wife! We were given genuine and helpful advice about Ushuaia. The family is very friendly and at the same time gives us a lot of privacy. Eduardo is someone you can rely on. He tried his best to make our stay memorable. When we told him we want to collect Argentine coins and were unable to get them from any of the banks in Ushuaia, he offered his help and found us 10 sets of complete collection. This may sound easy, but if you did try getting coins in banks, you will discover that they are usually NOT available. We waited hours in different banks and none of them have a supply of coins. As for the accommodation, we stayed one night in the twin room in their family house and another two nights in the apartment next door. The twin room is of a decent size with a private bathroom right next to it. The room is clean, cosy and comfortable. As for the apartment next door, it is spacious and fully equipped. Very comfortable with good heating and strong shower. It’s just perfect! However, the location of Ahnen is not in the center, so you have to walk down a slope to the main street (San Martin). But given the expensive accommodation in Ushuaia, Ahnen offers good value for money.

Room Tip: Personally, I would pay a little more for the apartment instead of the twin room.
